Press statement just released:

200 officers employed prior to events. That was soon increased by officers from other areas.

One life changing injury as well has an officer injured and a number of away coaches damaged.

They have video evidence which is being investigated and EVERY individual identified, which they will be, will ALL be bought to justice, whether they be Everton, Millwall supporters or anyone else.

No one specific incident caused it to happen, it happened over a number of hours, AND THERE WAS AN ARRANGED MEET!

He repeated those responsible will be brought to justice. This is the worst case of violence the police have seen for sometime.

Further reports state there are other episodes going on like this all the time, but only high profile events such as Millwall v Everton are being recognised by the media.
