You were being very general which is why as fans we are going to defend ourselves, you were driving the Liverpool scumbag fans nonsense, I'm sure you'd have a lot to say if I branded you a racist because of the way a minority of your fans behave.
I didn't want to go down that route as it would look like me making excuses but yes Milwall have a reputation, I don't personally know if it's true in today.
No i wasnt implying that Liverpool fans were scumbags, just that Liverpool fans feel a need to defend, rather than condemn, the scumbags in their camp.
I am sure there are loads of decent Millwall fans who just want to enjoy their football. But the trip from London Bridge to New Cross on the train can be a hairy experience for any visiting supporters; that’s one reason, incidentally, why groups of visiting fans often meet up at pubs round London Bridge (eg. Borough Market), before travelling down together.
Ok so to clarify, I watched the video again, the longer version of the punch up. And despite Tobe's claims this is what happened. The Wall were chased to that point by Everton fans, which confined both sets of supporters to a narrow area, segregated by a low wall on one side. The fan that was slashed advanced from the back of a small group that was gradually increasing in numbers. The fan that was slashed had every opportunity not to get involved. Everton supporters had the upper hand, the slashed supporter had plenty of 'safe' and 'open' space behind him to just turn around and walk away, into an area dominated by Everton supporters and arriving police. But no the man chose to advance forward fists flaring and got slashed. He chose to fight, he was not defending himself as an innocent bystander who got caught up in the affray, he walked into the affray.
This is a still of the incident, the victim chose to advance to this point, he was not originally at the front of this group, you can see the police horse behind, there was also other arriving police behind and another horse... please log in to view this image
This is where the Wall kids went down to meet the Everton fans, and Wall got chased up into the narrow walkway, it's a video the opposite side of the wall, where the guy got slashed, the timing can be identified by the arrival of the horses...
I feel sorry for the residents having to put up with that **** every other week. Hate football hooligans, always have done. Nothing but cowards who have to fight in packs with all their boyfriends.
A total of 34 people were arrested and questioned with26 Liverpool fans being charged with manslaughter – the only extraditable offence applicable to events atHeysel. ... In April 1989, 14 fans were convicted and given three-year sentences, that were half suspended forfive years, allowing them to return to the UK.
The Everton supporters, advance because it's clear they were having missiles lobbed at them. What i don't get is where were the police in all this, they must have known the numbers arriving. If the horses had been five minutes sooner the slashing would never have happened, because the situation would have been contained. If only the Everton supporters had held back instead of giving chase. But hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Exactly. People living in those flats just trying to get on with their lives, and they have to put up with a 20 handed punch up outside their front doors on a Saturday afternoon; that’s when the local drug dealers aren’t openly plying their trade in the area. It’s ****ed. And don’t expect any help from the Old Bill; it took those two cozzers on the film two goes each to get over a three foot brick wall
Yes I believe he’s done a fair bit of pro-Millwall propaganda to fight against the decades of fake news aimed at good old working-class love their mum Millwall.
be fair mate, if you lived in the area, would you want to jump over the wall, i'd have fooked off to the pub....oh hang on, didn't that get attacked as well
