Latest from Poxit... "We are going to create a debate that to win a trophy is going to help the club," he said. “I don’t agree with that. That only builds your ego. In reality the most important thing is being consistently in the top four and playing in the Champions League. That is going to help the club to achieve the last step." Is building ego bad for sportsmen?
Hes not signing any players and is only recruiting young gems and academy players. The spuds injury record is looking like le arses under wenger
Methinks the man protesteth too much... You know damn well that not having a trophy on his CV after a decade as a Manager bugs the **** out of him...
Its important to the clubs accountant, but as manager Poch shouldn't give a **** about the clubs money, thats not his job.
Wow, the excuses from Potlesstino are coming thick and fast now. Just this week we’ve heard him blame Spurs ****e history, the stadium, lack of signings, injuries, and now claiming that football isn’t about winning trophies.
That latest comment has probably got our board looking at him like he’s a total clown. If they don’t get top 4 this season it could start getting pretty nasty at Spurs.
It’s funny because it’s exactly what spurs fans used to slate Wenger for saying. That top 4 was more important than a trophy. And here they are doing exactly the same.
Even as a Spurs fan, I think he’s wrong to say that. Yes, from a money point of view the CL is where to be, but a cup would be something for all the players to celebrate. Can’t think why he’s mentioning egos. Maybe lost in translation.
It’s quite clear that Levy has told the manager that top 4 is a must and cups don’t mean **** without it. Poch played a weakened side for this reason and it’s only going to cost Spurs in the long run. What message does that send to Kane and Alli, never mind the rest who want to leave anyway? Harry, sorry mate you’re gonna be winning nowt and earning less than you would for winning trophies at better clubs, but please stay.
On second thoughts, I probably should have said "late era Wenger" as the early version of Wenger was a serial winner so it's a bit harsh really.
If he’d already won a couple of FA cups or league cups then maybe he’d have a bit more credibility, but to dismiss them whilst having won **** all is arrogant beyond belief. As @Tel says, if you also finish outside of the top 4 then people are rightly going to slate him.
