That one word sums up everything that is wrong with your attempt to wind us up - Just look at what has happened to this 1 club and try then to understand why so many people here (who are all fans and as such would love to see us a win a trophy) still support Levy and Poch due to the huge amount of progress that has been made by the club as a whole.

Spending isn't a guarantee of having better performances but it must increase the chance of that. I do think fans are too impatient though and see any spending as better than nothing. There are only two or three players in the squad where we could improve for a spend of under 50m and even in those cases we've got only about a 40% chance of success. So I'm very happy with not spending unless we can sign someone we really want.

Ah, Diego on the "night shift" .

Proving yet again that it will be have to a very "special"
person to dethrone him from most p*ss-poor WUM wannabee
    on Spurs 606. :)

But very surprised by LDL reverting back to his BBC606 days
(the intoxication of the Man Utd winning streak must be some
    powerful stuff) .

I kinda wish that from now on we'd be more direct with these domestic cups.

Just build a third tier 'cup team' of the best youths from the academy, fringe players and injury returnees, and pretty much always use them in these domestic cups. That way they're will be no talk of Spurs being 'bottlers' every time we lose a cup match, and our youths would actually get more game time.

I'd say despite eveything, our policy has improved a lot, we now seem to keep our best players, and the stadium is almost done.

Once we start generating income from that, we'll hopefully see more improvements.

Perhaps it's time for EUFA to have a salary cap in all leagues! God! Players down to their last 150,000. How could they survive?

It cost them a spend of more than £1 billion on transfer fees, wages and Gillette and Hicks above what we spent in the same period. It is something....but it's an almost negligible return and an indicator that chucking money at the problem, without a proper plan, is a waste of time and money....see Everton during the last few years for confirmation.

If you're recommending following their courses of action during the majority of that decade, I wouldn't.

    Merely correcting rlc fella.

As for recommending their course of action, in recent years you both have been pretty savvy and well built with two managers who are doing it the correct way.

Obviously up to now neither have won anything. Both teams have done really well to build their teams and bought really well.

At the moment though only one team looks like they are pushing on (we will find out in may and potentially have a laugh) whereas the other has had a mid season implosion (not entirely their own fault such as Kane injury, son could be foreseen, wanyama and dembele haven't been able to string games together, sissoko and a few others i believe is too many games).

Liverpool have started to get it right....very right, unfortunately.

Instead of bringing in Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Balotelli and a whole load of seemingly cheap signings, who were on monsterous wages (as well as being ****), they've started buying young English players and bringing kids through from the Academy. It's the right thing and could have prevented Chelsea buying Bakayoko, Morata, Zappacosta, et al.

They continue to sell players (for big money!) and invest to go again. Selling Coutinho was a masterstroke. Barcelona severely overestimated his value and the Mousers completed the jigsaw. I thought that we were going to do something similar last summer. It's a pretty sensible model and Arsenal's inability to master it is costing them.

It's hard to know what Spurs are free to do on transfers right now, given the enormous financial commitment to the stadium. I'm sure the banks will have riders on spending and who can blame them? Roman couldn't raise the capital to build your stadium because you're a financial basket case. Spurs and Arsenal have raised the money to do so because they're properly run but these things are long-term investments with short-term pain - like saving for a deposit to buy your first home, when all your mates are going to Vegas and driving nice cars.

I think that the NFL and multi-purpose nature of our stadium will be a massive game changer. However, we're currently at our financial lowest. In a year or two, it'll look very different.

Yup you have gone for the long play which imo is risky without contemplating your current team which tbf to levy has paid off over the last few years. It would never go down well if you willingly sold off some of your star players (pool were lucky in that respect that coutinho went on strike) and you need to hope that the money helps you move onto the next level.

However there have been many clubs who have built new stadiums and not seen things happen if the team doesnt maintain its quality.

Hell even arsenal have slumped with one of the biggest revenues in the game (a testament to how well you have done).

However, if levy doesnt get his wallet out then i will be surprised if the current momentum of the club remains. Toby hasnt signed and neither has eriksen. Verts and lloris arent getting any younger (yes i know gazza is in the background) but really your backups are fairly untested even if they have a high ceiling of potential.

Your backline will need a rebuild is what im getting at as well as your CM

By the way. If your manager tells us he's not interested in our domestic cups, shouldn't he 1.Don't enter them and 2.Tell fans not to bother and stay home!

Again, like owning a house, everything needs rebuilding pretty soon. Yesterday was hopefully part of that. We need Foyth to progress to become the player MP thinks he can be. Davinson Sanchez also needs to mature and gain more confidence. KWP could be the right back for the next 10 years, or he won't train on. Game time is all that will prove this....or we could do a Chelsea and sell the young players to bring in older foreign players who are no better.....or an Arsenal and let the majority of the squad get old together and have no money to replace them.

As I said before, Spurs haven't walked into Arsenal's footsteps without learning from their problems. There was a meeting for key partners of the club last Spring where Levy laid out the blue print for the next decade. Nothing's leaked out about specifics but the feedback from someone who was there was that Spurs financial model is light years ahead of what Arsenal did (the bloke was actually a Gooner), so until we sell HK to ward off the bailiffs, I'm going to go with the likelihood that Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy have a vague clue about what they're doing.

It's just an excuse from Poch...you don't get to 1 game from a final then churn out the cobblers of an excuse that the cups are not important.

If he has the belief in his convictions he should have us knocked out at the earliest stages in both trophies and crack on with the Holy Grail.
