I completely agree, Liverpool havnt won any silverware since 2006, and if we are to start challenging for trophies in the future we'll need to find that winning mentality, I remember spurs reaching the final in 2009 and the next season they reached the CL (I think)

Yeah, we won it in 07/08, got to the final and lost on penalties in 08/09 and then finished 4th in 09/10.
We've lacked any continuity for a long time due to almost constant managerial changes, though.
I can't see that being a problem for Liverpool with Dalglish taking the helm.

    Nope.

But if he manages to keep a clean sheet in September, just one mind <yikes>, I'll consider it.

If he doesn't, will you consider him not to be the player you think he is?

I'll consider whether the goals were his fault or not.
A good keeper can concede without being at fault, just as a good striker can fail to score without being at fault.
    It's a team game.

OK PNP, so if our goal difference is minus lots and lots at the end of the season, then it won't be BF's fault for not saving enough or EA's fault for not scoring enough... because they're both good players.

Pity that Gomes isn't a good player as he didn't save enough, and neither is JD as he didn't score enough last season.

Yes its a team game, but a keeper is there not to concede and a striker is there to score. If neither do this, then they are at fault. BF has admitted as much, getting plaudits don't count if you concede 8 goals in two games, no matter who the opposition or who is defending front of you.

You and I will never agree on the whys and wherefores of BF & EA's inclusion into the Spurs ranks, I think.

No, I don't think that we will and this is why:
If our defence and midfield play like ****, then it doesn't matter how well our striker/s or keeper play.
    We'll still lose.

Gomes was repeatedly used while injured and off-form last season and Defoe wasn't used in system that played to his strengths or given a decent run in the side, so I don't blame either of them, particularly.
Our transfer dealings weren't done early enough this season and Redknapp picked a ridiculously open midfield for the City game.
Neither of these faults are down to individual players.

If a striker fails to score because a keeper pulls off some great saves and a GK concedes because his turd defence keeps letting players through then of course a decent GK and Striker can not score of concede and still have played well.

  8. It would be nice if the King Kennyites used that as their new anthem <ok>

I'd certainly sing along with them.

I'm not going to say we are guaranteed top 4, but as a supporter of my team I am hopeful. As are a lot of you with Spurs. Fair enough. But are any of you concerned by your teams performances (or lack of) so far. Don't give me the whole 'we played the two Manchester teams' malarky because that doesn't give an excuse of playing so badly.

  10. Why should we be worried?

We matched one of the best teams in Europe for 75 minutes, at their ground, the same team that beat Arsenal 8-2, and who LFC fans confidently predict will finish above us.

As for the City game, I doubt we will be the last side this season to suffer a mauling at their hands. Harry set us up to attack rather than defend, and it proved to be the wrong tactic on that occasion.

I have absolutely no worries about facing LFC, Chelsea or Arsenal this season, and I am confident that we can points off all of you, over the full 6 games.
