Having a season ticket makes me an honourary apologist I expect, but I have pissed a fair amount of vinegar in my time too. So if there's a flip-flopper list in the pipeline I'll sign up for that one. Is there not room for every opinion on this forum?
On this forum? I don't think we have any apologists posting here. A few dozen seem to have gathered somewhere else, but if they aren't bothering us I say live and let live. We're all Charlton fans after all - even those among us who would like to see the team relegated to League 2 just so they can complete their inventory of away game visits to league grounds. When the Belgian is gone things will get better between the main bulk of fans and the little splinter groups. Maybe we will never have complete unity again but what team does have an entirely united fan base? Most of us will be good chums again...
It's no sillier than "vinegar pisser". And it is apt when applied to Charlton fans who add the following preface every time they step up to defend RD; "None of us likes Duchatelet but...."
That doesn't mean we have to accept him. I don't know how to get rid of Trump either, but that doesn't mean I'm going to warm to the bloke and start thinking he isn't so bad after all.
Depends how you interpret "accept". When you can't do anything about something you have no choice but to accept it, albeit unwillingly. I've helped CARD, been to Belgium to protest. In vain. If there is any way to hasten his departure let me know and I'll do it. But until then I accept his ownership of Charlton.
I meant "accept" as in reach a state of mind where you no longer regard it as bad, wrong or undesirable. A state of mind where you no longer disapprove of it.
We will have to disagree about that definition. I accept that I can't run for a bus any more due to anno domini. I don't like it, but if I don't accept it I risk a heart attack.
I’m just grateful our dear owner doesn’t do this https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...pologises-for-posting-intimate-picture-online
