It’s to put players in the transfer window to get the most money for them because levy is about to sell Llorente, GKN, Trippier and Janssen and invest £200m. <ok>

2-0 FT. Turgid first half, awful decisions throughout and we're out of both domestic cups in a few days.
Shambolic stuff and our season is now all about staying in the top four. Awful.

Danny Rose laughing with Townsend at the whistle. <doh> He really doesn't learn, does he?

    And unlucky against Chelsea.
And a great performance against Fulham, where there was no luck involved at all, either.

First time since God knows when, that Pochettino is
now well and truly on the rack. I do not blame him for
the injury plague, but there are shades of Arry 2012
    IMHO creeping into his mentality.

Which is why I said all season : PRAGMA OVER DOGMA.

It's going to be an awful atmosphere at Wembley on Wednesday. Not looking forward to that, at all.

Have a great evening lads...I see no point in giving too many damns about something the club doesn't give too many damns about

Onto midweek we go to secure the holy grail of top 4.

I'll leave the autopsy to the ones with the master plan for our club

Whilst the cup defeats are extremely disappointing, they’ve both come with a few days left of the transfer window, which could be a blessing in disguise. It shouldn’t need results like this to address issues though.

Animosity that was bubbling under the surface for a percentage of our fans who perhaps haven’t been so vocal, may start to creep to the surface now IMO.

Yeah, two of the three teams below overtaking you is highly improbable

    'Nailed on top four'?

Spurs are in a very good position, but with Chelsea signing a semi-decent striker and with United's resurgence under OGS, nothing is nailed on for them or any team apart from the top 2 positions, which will no doubt be occupied by Liverpool and City.

Considering Kane and Alli won't be back until March either, I wouldn't say getting a CL spot is guaranteed.

With the injuries piling up, they needed to rest key players.

However, I will accept that some of the performances today were embarrassing from professional players. Especially those who have been capped by their national sides.

I half expected that selection because we’re picking up injuries to key players in near enough every game at the moment. But what I wasn’t expecting, was such a disgraceful performance.

Quite aside from the selection and injury and squad management issues that we have all highlighted, my biggest concern is that all the aggression, all the spike we saw from this team once Poch came to our club, that culminated in the ‘Battle of the Bridge’ a few years back, seems to have gone from the club.

This is true on the pitch, where we don’t press as much as we used to before, or nearly as intensely. This is partly a good thing because we weren’t always effective at this (penning in bad teams and never having space to play, or just getting played past by some of the better sides) but I think we’ve all observed that the pace, aggression and intensity of our play has hugely diminished in the last season and a half. That’s not good.

I think it’s true off the pitch. I think there are very few players willing to dig people out at this club. Our club captain is a fine goalkeeper and has been a good servant for us but is probably the most passive leader I have ever seen. When Poch arrived he was a hard bastard and everyone knew it. I don’t see him being the same way now. We used to have a nasty side, silk and steel both on and off the pitch, that made us as supporters feel differently about this group than Spurs teams before. But I think that’s going too.

I’m worried that although we’ve finished well above our station in the league these last few years, we’re looking down the barrel of a gun now. We’re in danger of letting all this hard work, all the blood, sweat and tears go to waste. Partly this is because of the timing of the new stadium build impacting our recruitment and how settled we are (or aren’t in this case) on the pitch. But also I just feel that the mental attitudes and the high standards we set at the start of Poch’s time are slipping, and slipping badly. That concerns me more because it’s something we should have control of. We’ve become too nice.

Based on the last 3 performances, I can’t see us winning that one either. Just don’t know where the goals are going to come from with such toothless attacking play.

You have to do your utmost to lift the team in every home
game between now and the return of all the first XI.

A blessing in disguise in all probability what with the current situation, the team selection suggested Poch sees the Watford game as more important and he probably sees going out of the cup as one less problem to worry about. It means another season without a trophy barring a miracle, but qualifying for the CL was always the priority at this stage.

Thank you, that's another competition we don't have to worry about..
Lets now get out of the Champions League... and then we can concentrate on finishing 6th or 7th in the Prem..,
Looks like, normal service resumed for the fans.

Things could've been so much different.
