Just a thought really, so many fans are born in the vicinity of their club and to support that club is taken for granted. Others support a team that may be successful or perhaps another reason. So which are you?

I was born in Paddington and lived in Marylebone, most of my family are R's, so there was no other choice for me although several mates were Spurs fans as they were the glamour team of the 60s. So I am a Ranger by birth although I was 12 before I really took an interest.

Not a QPR fan but I was born and bred about 5 miles from SW6 in a predominantly Chelsea supported area and my Dads best friend (friend of the family) was born and bred in the Fulham Court Estate and were Chelsea through and through, so there was really only one team for me.

my first game was april 1956 v northampton won 3-2 after being 2 down, my last game was may 2011 v leeds, sadly I had to give up my season ticket the price hike was too much

I'm a Paddy but my old man lived in Shep Bush so my brother and I were indoctrinated. Although me Da tells me when I was young I used to taunt him that I was an Arsenal fan! (Can't remember that) Somehow my sister followed Chelsea. Something to do with some player she fancied. Still, as the song goes, two outta three aint bad!

Born Lima, Peru. At the age of 7 I was on a trip to England and picked the team that were top at the end of Grandstand, it was QPR, I've never looked back!

Born in the isle of man. parents had no interest in football, so could have supported anyone. Would have said I supported man utd until I was 9 or 10. Started to take an interest in footy at that age and changed to qpr, my grandfather's team. So I guess I chose qpr, over utd, Liverpool, everton et al.

I wasn't born a hoop, I chose to be a hoop. Is that better or worse than being born one?

Indeed, just think though I could have been a Liverpool supporter! No regrets! You may understand that living in Peru I get asked 1) Who do you support? 2) Who are they? 3) Why do you support them? Much head shaking follows! But no more - by the end of this season any fanatic of the Premiership in Peru will have heard of the super hoops and not because we've just gone back to the unheard of here Championship

Great stories already on what's likely to be a long and popular thread.

But I'll tell you what Inke, that will take some beating. What are romantic image for Rs fans! Seriously. We all played football in the street back then and had to rely on those dull street lights and a white ball... but to think you got to do that under floodlights with the thunder of the crowd to spur you on! And QPR too!

    Magic.

    Birth or adoption?

Lived in Kilburn then. Lots of Chelseas and ManUs... some Liverpools and Arsenals. Hadn't heard of Rangers till my neighbours dragged me along one day.

Birth or adoption? What would you say?

Adopted for me. Living in Basingstoke, I grew up supporting Liverpool until I was about 14 and a mates dama started taking us up to LR. I was old enough to start thinking 'what's the point in supporting a team I never gay to see', and switched colours accordingly.

Sit's back and awaits the abuse....
