I think Sterling will be in the squad today. Even though I’m really excited about Parrott’s future, I just think at 16, it might be too soon for him. I’d imagine Llorente will start though but it’ll probably be his last start now that Son is on his way home.

I’m sure we’ll see Sterling at some point today, which I’m looking forward to. But I like the idea of starting as below

    Gazza
    Foyth Toby Jan
    KWP Winks Skipp Rose
    Lamela Llorente Lucas

With a view to Dier, Eriksen, Son and hopefully Sissoko all being able to start the next league game.

  3. Personally I think we need more than a couple of goals a year from our DM’s. Both are more than capable - especially Dier who should be a constant threat at corners and freekicks (if we ever get them past the first man!)
They should be setting themselves targets for 8-10 IMHO.

    GKN Llorente Moura

Real brave selection by Pochettino IMHO.

    1. Trippier will get skinned by Townsend and Zaha.

    2. Is Toby injured ?? :(

    3. Hope Wanyama in the squad is not a rush job. :(

Is that the most inexperienced squad ever put out by Spurs in an FA Cup game?

The League Cup starting XI in the 2010 NLD was IMHO
far more of a non-cohesive mess than this one.

CMs yes, but I wouldn't say DMs should be required to get that many goals (or assists). Busquets/ Kante/ Casemiro/ Matic/ Fernandinho etc have never been known for their involvement in goals so I think it'd be harsh to expect it from Dier/ Wanyama. As for CMs though, it's definitely a concern for us and something that has to be improved on, Dembele didn't get a single goal or assist last season in the Prem, nor did he get any in his brief amount this season, while Winks has one goal and no assists. Compare that with other Prem CMs this season:

    Pogba - 8 goals 7 assists
    Doucoure - 3 goals 5 assists
    Gundogan - 4 goals 2 assists
    Ramsey - 2 goals 6 assists
    Milner - 3 goals 3 assists

It's games like this where players like Dier need to step up...the senior player

We wanted a young inexperienced team today to preserve us for the PL and now we have got one.

Winks has been playing DM in almost every match this year.

WE should not be lacking in determination and in one way it will be easier for the less experienced because they have teammates like themselves. I expect a good fight from Spurs.

The team is underwhelming, but I don’t think we’ve got a lot of choice. I’m not bothered about giving GKN a start, especially as he’s in the show window. It’s Trippier that bothers me more. Zaha is gonna tear him a new one.

Not defensive mid. Perhaps deep lying but definitely not defensive.

The mess was in 2010, not today.

[ Very difficult conversing with these Citeh plastics whose "year zero" was 2012. :( ]

2010 was more of a 'mess' compared to today's lesser 'mess' is how I read it.
