Knock it off SH We're just a load of old men who sometimes try to put the World to rights - no cliques, no secret membership societies, just people passing the time on a keyboard, and, for me, keeping in touch with my homeland.
That is more to do with my friends in the Tory party and members of their lodge than cologne I suspect.
No, more to do with posters on here within the well established clique as accurately and frequently described by others.
Right then SH. Who are all these people who frequently describe this imaginary clique? I can think of you and one other, so who are the rest?
It is not imaginary, it is a real live clique. Several have left due to the ganging up on posters who dare to express views that differ from the narrow range belonging to you and the rest of the clique. I will respect their individual wishes to not be quoted.
For heavens sake just argue your political views without insulting or belittling other posters, without all this childishness.
You are hiding again SH. You said that these posters made comments "accurately and frequently described". This is not private comments to you in PMs, but comments made on the forum. I asked you to name them. Please do so, or admit that there is no collusion between posters here, but simply you are basically in a minority.
It is clear to me that this thread is one that should be trivial, with good humour, and it has been that way long before Not606 came into being. To see it being used in a way that was never intended saddens me. We all have different backgrounds, and different views on things that have an influence on our lives, but there are other places to explain what we believe on those issues. Everyone who contributes is quite able to recognise if they are putting things up in the spirit of the Hornets Nest, and I don't believe that people want it to be any different. I do listen and read what is going on, and am reluctant to remove posts. If that is needed I will remove posts that are quite clearly designed to be disrespectful of this thread or other posters, and if required will seek to have posters removed for a period to cool off. If you disagree, say so, and I will let it all descend into a last man standing argument.
Calling a spade a spade is not provocation. The Hornets Nest is meant to be a place for friendly chat - if you have political points to make then move them onto the threads designated for those. If you make an effort to actually debate with other posters, and show them some respect, then you will get the same in return. It really is as simple as that.
Been watching Millwall, Wimbledon and now Shrewsbury on MOTD and wonder what it is that makes so many of us support the underdog.
Couldn't agree more. The nest and matchday threads should be sacrosanct in terms of politics and other arguments. The matchday threads most certainly do not only have regular contributors who agree on certain Geo political issues.
I wanted Everton to win to be honest. I blame Silva more than them for what went on and have always had a soft spot for them - probably goes back to that day at Anfield on 4 May 1987 when those of us in the away end had had the joy of seeing Ian Rush's farewell turn into a wake because Everyone won the league at Norwich . I also have no time for Millwall whatsoever having seen their fans handiwork at close quarters. That said, Wimbledon really did encapsulate the true magic of the cup tonight - loved it!
Having spent my early years of watching Watford constantly at the bottom of the heap, I suspect that I just love seeing clubs no matter who they are doing one on teams who are in a better state than them. I once went to the old Den, and was informed that I was taking my life in my hands by going there. In fact the fans there were fine towards us very small band of travelling supporters, and I have enjoyed days out at many clubs that had a reputation of being hostile. I was in the south of France on holiday when I met a man who was working flat out to save his club, Aldershot. They had gone bust, but his belief in them was undiminished. I listened to him and realised that the love for a club cannot be taken away from a true fan. In the same way I waited for the Chairman of Halifax to turn up on a Saturday evening from his match. He lived in Wimbledon, but went to every game home and away. Once you have that attachment it can take over from reason. I enjoy watching my local French team, not because they will set the world on fire, but because I have the greatest respect for the two dozen fans who will support them by making the most ridiculous journeys from one end of the country to the other. Maybe it is the fans that I feel affinity with, or the small club battling to survive against the bigger boys, but these people surely have the right to have their day, and maybe even earn some money to help them survive.
I very much dislike Everton for the opposite reason to you. I remember when Coventry had to win their final league game to avoid relegation That final game was against Everton who had already won the league so put out a reserve side and Coventry won 4-0. Coventry were saved and Norwich were relegated This was 1985, not that I bear a grudge you understand

We have to have respect, goodwill and some humour throughout this message board. There really is no place for personal abuse and bullying. And yes keep threads for what they are about.. And start your own thread if you like... Otherwise and you are right about this Frenchie there will just be a handful left on here. Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
