Fair play, Vince. I know most people take that stance when players leave. Personally, I like to keep one eye on their careers and see how they do.

Maybe he will end up like, Asoro. I doubt it, though. That ruthless streak he's got in front of goal should see him have a decent career.

    He's a c*nt. F*ck him he's gone.

If he is a flop great. If he is a success I hope Bordeaux flog him and we get a few bob.

As a staunch supporter of our academy and players coming through, and Maja in particular when Coleman was ignoring him last year in favour of Fletcher the loanee from Boro., I can fully understand the bitterness on here which seems to surprise you. Maja has shown scant regard to anyone, choosing to leave at this time, half way through a promotion push of which he is a major part without any adequate replacement in sight, he could not have chosen a better moment to **** on the lot of us. If your post is a joke accept my apologies, if not in footballing terms **** *** to Bordeaux .

Why would it be a joke? Its our fans all over, we never bat an eyelid when it's been us taking other teams players in the previous years. God forbid anybody has the sheer cheek to purchase one of ours.

The lad has an opportunity to go to a club that is in the top division and will be more than likely be involved in European campaigns. Maja had never once let this affect his performance or goals. He's done everything in the correct manner. I'm not going to spit my dummy out because somebody has left my league 1 club to go to one of the biggest teams in French football.

Have to say I’m with you mate.

Having looked at their squad since it came out I think he may well get games sooner than he thought.

I said as soon as £4,800 was suggested as the offer that is seemed incredibly low, and for all I understand people’s frustrations, I do think ‘has he done anything wrong?’.

We aren’t certain to go up, and Bordeaux is a big club in a half decent league, people saying it’s weak are way off, PSG runaway due to finance, but then there’s Lyon, St Étienne, Monaco and Bordeaux, few others, with famous clubs, history and stature, all with good history of developing players and regular European football.

If it works out for him, and that’s the if, without SAFC blinkers on it could be a fantastic move. He scores a few goals does he maybe end up at PSG?

The way it was handled was grim from the club and the agent, I’m gonna swallow it and wish him well. I’m a little concerned to hear we owe Bordeaux money for Khazri mind, we sold him for break even and shouldn’t Ellis have settled that from the summer fee?

Confusing and contradictory to what we were told about players sold in summer.

Well I am spitting mine out <laugh>, just have to agree to disagree on this one. I loved the lad by the way and thought he was a class apart, but maybe his goal celebration was a clue to his character, and I also, will watch with interest to see how he does in future <ok>. Onwards and Upwards.

I’m not asleep fella, I’ve questioned this already.

They are doing a great job in many, many ways the new owners, but they clearly haven’t got a pot to piss in.

Feels like they’ve pinned a lot on going up this year and Sartori financing, but what’s plan B?

Let’s see what happens before the window shuts before we judge them but if nothing happens, we’d be right to question.

I’m genuinely scratching my head at the Maja money being owed to Bordeaux when ‘Ellis settles debts’ and we sold Khazri for far in excess of the Maja fee. I can’t work it out at all.

The fact that we've made 4 bids for Grigg tells me a story.

It wouldn't take a huge offer to get him. He's 4th choice at Wigan ffs.

They're penny pinching, which was always a worry of mine.

I don’t think it’s so much penny pinching as they simply don’t have any money mate, that’s what points towards.

The low wage offer to Maja sits in with the rumoured bids. If we did indeed start at 250k, any one of us would have known that was an absolute joke of an offer.

The ‘we’ve spent way more than anyone else in the league’ lines are a concern. Of course we have we are 10 times the size, income, turnover.

I am not, to be clear, in any doubt that the owners are good for the club, they’ve done great work and started to turn the club around. If there’s no money there though, then we need to be open about that.

If it’s the case, it’s incomprehensible that Maja was allowed to leave, so as I said, I’ll hold these as ‘concerns’ until the window shuts.

Maja taking us up would have brought in more money than his fee even if he walked for zero seasons end, there surely has to be a plan in place? Surely?

Yeah I didn't mean they have the funds just don't want to spend, I meant they probably just don't have as much as they'd like us to think.

In reality were the man Utd of league one. Biggest income by far etc but don't have the deep pockets.

Speculate to accumulate. We can't afford not to go up.

I don't think there's no money I just think they're working hard at balancing the books and not spending a penny more than necessary, which may come back to bite us on the arse but is the best way to run a business. I believe Maja left purely so his agent could take a cut of the transfer fee and for no other reason whatsoever, he's nothing more than a goal scoring puppet.

The books will never balance in League One mate, the running costs of the club will cripple it if we have a second season in the league.

I repeat, and let’s wind the clock back. ‘Ellis will settle debts, a facet of that is he will receive fees from players sold in summer window’.

    That’s what was sold.

Now, we owe Bordeaux for a player we signed under Ellis tenure, and Ellis received the fee from St Étienne as he was sold in summer window?

This needs clarity, there’s at best some spin, at worst some absolute bullshit to get fans on-side.

I appreciate the wage bill is still too high, I acknowledge we haven’t brought in wedges of cash.

We are supposedly ‘debt free’ other than the money the owners are liable for the Ellis. So, where are the 32k gate receipts going? I’d suggest the kit and sponsorship deals cover the salaries, or the bulk of, so is the clubs income being used to pay for the club? That’s what it’s looking like to me.

Fair play to them of it works but if this was the plan, and we stay down, there’s implosion version 2 to consider, cos no 2 ways about it we are royally ****ed if we stay down, how could we not be?

Balancing the books can’t be done on an uneven weight of income/outgoing. The Sky deal for Championship is way below the PL but it’s still substantial and we ****ing need it. We need the increased sponsorship, the coverage.

I’ll hold my nerve until the window closes as I do, genuinely, despite these concerns maintain belief in the owners.

If we do not finalise the playing side, I can’t pretend I’ll buy another word out of their mouths.

I genuinely believe they've got a financial plan, that will work. But I also believe that the finances are more complicated than anyone really knows. Meaning basically, there's not masses to spend.
