I genuinely turned off at 2-1 and assumed that was it.

You could still get into Europe by finishing 7th, but it's interesting to see how much support he's given.

It's only "kneejerk" if you haven't known Silva would be a flop at Everton since August

The only thing I hate more than VAR is seeing players and managers drawing that imaginary ****ing VAR screen with their hands

Like it should be for surrounding the ref? Won't happen, especially with the big clubs.

It's down to the respective football authorities FIFA/UEFA etc. to enforce rules regarding how match officials are treated by players/managers.

Works in Rugby ffs. It's amusing seeing a 6'6'' monster getting told off by a ref half his size, while he stands there like a schoolboy getting a roasting from the headmaster.

I know this is brought up time and again as an example, that officiating in Rugby is better than in Football, but I just don't think the comparison works. Rugby is a stop/start game anyway and players are used to the ref dictating and directing the flow of play. Football is much more fluid and when the ref stops the game it's usually for a contentious incident, so it tends to illicit more of a reaction from the players.
