    They have backed him. He spent more money on one forward (Edouard*) last summer than all the other clubs in Scotland put together did. And the wage bill is almost the total of all the others.

    And buy who? It's hardly Peter Lawwell's fault that Edouard is injured and Griffiths is suffering from mental health problems. The last time he handed Rodgers a cheque to sign a CB he signed Jack Hendry. Most of the players he's signed have been absolutely ****e. It's no coincidence that our best players are nearly all players who were here before Rodgers arrived.

    It's also January. Teams don't wont to lose good players in January. The ones willing to sell want crazy money for their players.

    He identifies a position

    Scouts identify a few players in that position

    Celtic sound out costs and discount expensive players

    Present a short list to Rodgers

    He picks 1 or 2

    Celtic go back and try and negotiate

    Someone else comes in and pays the requested fee

    Celtic try next one

    That's usually a PLC's way....unable to realise funds quickly etc
