It’s not true at all though, is it? Only a total ignoramus holds teachers in contempt.

doubt it or he would have mentioned policing staff absence policies are being correctly carried out by managers to ensure that no technical get outs are left for aggrieved staff members.

See my previous post for the reasons for my knowledge on this subject <laugh>

The HR where I used to work was like that. When I volunteered for redundancy, and got it, I was so happy. When I was in the meeting telling me what I was going to get as a redundancy payment, I couldn't stop laughing, which annoyed the HR bitch. She said that she doesn't see what's funny, to which l replied `I always laugh when I'm happy `. Loved it.

yeah cos people choose to be ill/injured <doh>

I got so hassled at my first job i turned up for work though incredibly ill. Lasted 2 days then went back sick after it became clear i was hallucinating whilst there .Within a month my kidney was removed (i weighed 7st 3lbs by then and am 5ft 11) yet i was back at work within 7 weeks of the op.
Oh and when i went back the bastards moved me to a new post saying it would be easier for me .
yeah cos learning a new job is bound to be easier than doing the same job as i had for prev 4 years.<doh>

    Archers has a point .

We used to be on a 9 day fortnight . 1 day in the week off every 2 weeks .

One bloke who's day off was a Monday , went sick every other Monday , so he had every Monday off .

The Management did nothing about it .

So I get why things have / had to be tightened up , it's easier to tar everyone with the same brush than grow a pair and sort the individual out .

But if anyone is suggesting I took the pi$$ wit my sick , then they can …..

Like someone at work said to me .

They used to be called " Personnel " .

    Now it's "Human Resource " .

The clues in the name .

Well I must have got it wrong then, because I remember you being very open about the fact you were worried about losing your job because you kept not turning up for work. What did you think was going to happen if you carried on like that?

I have never worked in HR or Personnel btw. But I have been an operational manager, and had to deal frequently with the aggravation caused when people don’t turn up to work. I have also dismissed people for absenteeism; only one of the people I sacked caused me any doubt at all, but his attendance record was so poor over many years, that he had to go. Most of the others were just doss ****s who kept blowing out on a Monday morning, leaving other people to pick up the slack while they lay about in bed.

I’m glad you didn’t get sacked, btw. In the organisation I worked for, I came across very few genuine individuals who ever did.

My case was I had a poor sick record . I never denied that .

The 2 underlying causes had been sorted just about the same time I got my IFW .

I decided not to fight it as I didn't need that hassle .

I was advised that " Stand alone " incidents could be taken into account ( Not WOULD ) .

I had the flu jab in October 2017 , came into work one day in march 2018 , feeling **** but worried I was under an IFW , was sent home , passed out at the wheel of my car & crashed into a tree , thankfully I didn't hit any cars or pedestrians .

Spent a week in isolation in hospital ( They thought I had scarlet fever due to the severe rash I had . They said that I had a bout of SEVERE influenza )

Come home( still sick with the Flu ) , during that time my Dad passed away

When I return to work I am issued with my FFW .

I appeal it and they reject it basically saying " Were you here working ? No ? tough " .

If my case was not a " Stand alone case " what the F is ?
