Now I have read that he is not getting any game time there....it's not what we want for him.
So he is being recalled so he can be sent to a team that will play him ( MK Dons is touted).

Makes you wonder if he is so low down the pecking order at Pompey will he ever be good enough to play in a championship team..

Counter argument is that he has been injured and is only just coming back to full strength. Mind you his age ( 27 I think) is against him

Gone to MK Dons, new loan. Makes sense if he didn't get regular game time at Pompey.

 

Smyth gone on loan to Accrington Stanley, shame would like to see him play in 1st team.

 

That should be a great loan for him. Good fit, Accrington is an attacking well playing side.

Both the Wheeler and the Smyth loan looks like good decisions by the club and players.

 

my guess is if he impresses they will make it permanent. I think League 1 is probably his standard

This is on the BBC gossip page "Southampton striker Charlie Austin will leave the club this month with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa interested in the 29-year-old Englishman. (Telegraph)".....with Sylla leaving, and two youngsters going out on loan, would we benefit from chasing after Charlie and getting him back in a hooped shirt?

We could if he accepted 75% of Sylla's wages.
