Fair enough, just like the old ACoN format (when it was in January) it just isn't very helpful to the clubs with players playing in it.

I suppose it is a bit arrogant of us to think the world revolves around the European football calendar though, haha.

Of course they wouldn't be invited into the Champion League, why would they and why would they want to be?, their own league would generate riches beyond what the CL makes.
I agree it would be boring, and for the ****ing 3rd time, I hope it never comes into reality.<grr>

    no. not for me.

if a player wants to play in the richest continent then they have to respect the continent's calender.

this is why Qatar 2022 is an utter disaster for got a and a terrible idea.

if son wants to **** off for a month and his club can't cope then tough.

this is why the African nations have finally relented and moved the time.of their tournament to align even though it affects everyone and one of these days the tournament will play in Qatar conditions.

all the players values and opportunities are held back by the tournament.

Sound like bliss to me, can you take var with you as well?

The problem is that's all well and good but there's a whole generation of fans that know nothing but football on sky and all the marketing/hype that comes with it.

That means doesn't matter how unattractive the idea sounds to older supporters a lot of younger fans would be loving the idea. Especially when they've grown up with the same teams wininng and challenging for everything. The Champions League has been a closed shop for years and people still love it.

that's fine if you have your ground to a reasonable standard and paid off.

if you've invested in top facilities and the cash goes you.can go out of business very quick.

so by all means return to the 1980s, maybe there'll be standing, white males only etc etc etc

this same attitude exists up and down country but interestingly other sports don't have it. rugby for example.

btw I love how people basically spout brexit style crap when talking about footballers.. like as if the English footballers were all amazing and not like Alan Smith etc etc etc

anyone old enough to remember Dennis bergkamp land in England (having failed in italy) or Zola... pure magic...

do you want donkey ball and an all male boys club where singing and fighting is.far more important that anything on the muddy half green bit in middle... work away.

I like to actually watch top football for entertainment.

Whilst I agree to an extent I honestly can't see why people would think that fans outside the top clubs would be against it. I think it would be the best thing that could happen to the English leagues personally. It won't happen though unfortunately.

Can i just point out Bergkamp was a nasty little **** who for some reason seemed to get away with stamping on other player on numerous occasions.

The problem is once the money goes, all the foreign stars go, that leaves you with a limited pool of pretty untalented players.

And I actually think naturally once the league becomes established you'd have the bigger clubs left like Leeds, Everton etc. actually becoming as dominant as the top 6 are currently, which would make the whole thing a bit pointless, really.

    beautiful player.

like i can say the same about shearer who probably would be the best English player of the 1990s really.

ok you've scholes who s the closest thing to a technical player England had made nearly in forever and the beckhams etc of this world but shearer was mid 1990s the premier player.

    then there's Rooney...

    Gerrard...

very few but all of a type almost. you had to be athlete and strong but a foreign player could be small.and technical.

I'd rather watch top players than a.bunch of English all the same style players goofing it about.

they are the reason it gets the viewing figures and you know it.

others benefit from them being successful and can buy decent players and they have done nothing to earn or merit it!!

I do agree that over time there would still be a 'new' top 4/6 but as you rightly say a lot of the money will leave which means the gap would be no where near as big.

can you clarify what this post means as i'm confused as i would have thought Mount is clearly a technical player and yes it was me who said he looked the real deal.

Partly yes, but also partly due to the supposed competitiveness of the league which would be further diluted if the odds are put even more in their favour.

The big clubs wouldn't have the chance to be successful if they had nobody to play. Football does exist outside the top level <ok>
