    I would happily bet you my house that that would be because he was England captain and NOTHING to do with bias in favour of United.

    He damaged his shoulder playing for Utd?,were England playing the day after our European Cup final victory?

    But thats just the tip of the iceberg RR.

    Anyway the press got what they wanted when Utd became successful again a few years after their promotion in 74-75.

    Becuase we've totally changed our managment structure, why can't you understand that? We've overhauled the playing staff and the managment staff. Arsenal haven't, they've been sticking to the same principles for 6 years now. These principles haven't worked so far, and they don't seem to be working this season either, yet Arsenal are strubbornly sticking to them.

    When Man Utd were struggling, Ferguson and the board made the decision to overhaul the squad with the likes of Van der Sar, Vidic, Evra, Rooney and Park coming in and people like Forlan, Djemba Djemba, Keane and Neville leaving. People are questioning why Arsenal haven't even attempted to change anything, just trying to plod on with the same managment and playing staff, as if they have no ambition past qualifying for the champions league.

    Were United playing BEFORE a Liverpool EC victory? Unlikely.

    Think you might have your dates wrong as he very famously dislocated his shoulder in the build up to the 1986 world cup finals, that's why it was big news as he was Englands 'saviour' and he subsequently went to the tournament unfit and it went again.
    (sound familiar anyone? England taking injured United players to tournaments in desperation? No, course they don't as the FA favour us so would never abuse our players)

    But Liverpool needed a drastic change whilst Arsenal didn't. Arsenal were, in my opinion, one or two quality players off winning one or two trophies last year - hardly in need of a drastic change ( although I agree this year is different ).

    You have changed your structure over the last 2 years but what about the years before that. As I stated I just think Arsenals run is focused on alot more than Liverpools

    Then it was the season we won the double at Everton's expense,i see your point about him being Englands captain but he was also captain of Utd and therefore a media darling.

    Robbo was the hero as England captain fantastic, as ever that is all the press were interested in. Nothing to do with being a United player.

    Why are they so smug? Just because they've won a few titles, doesn't mean we have to hear about them droning on about them being superior. Have they ever gone an entire season undefeated? No, but we have. We should be allowed to be smug to them, but we're too decent. Their fans should look at us for inspiration, and look at Liverpool too. For years they had the record for most titles, yet their fans never bleated on about it.

    The season we won the treble we lost less games than the bloody so called invincibles. Picked up three trophies in the bargain too. Pisses all over your minor, piffling season.

    Even as a child I could never understand the circle-jerk around manu being the biggest best etc club in the world when we we clearly more successful at the time.
