I don't agree with you on this part Ess.

A glory hunter to me is someone that attaches him/herself to a certain team because of success. Others have sentimental and different reasons for supporting teams.

Arsenal were rubbish in 1967. Spurs, Chelsea and even probably West Ham were better teams at the time. If Cym was a United fan then I would say he is a gloryhunter, but I don't see anything wrong with choosing a team that isn't successful at the time from 250 miles away, I actually find it admirable and is smacks of disrespect to accuse someone as commited and loyal as Cym of being a gloryhunter IMO <ok>

The second goal came about because we dicked you. No conspiracy, it wasn't the press, it wasn't sky, it was because we're ****ing better than you.

The ridicluous petulant behaviour of your players in losing that game proves incontrovertibly that it is your sorry bunch of lightweights that are the bad losers. Not us.

I think the corruption thing is blown way out of proportion. We all know United get more favourable decisions than most and get favouritism from the FA but if you are good enough then you are good enough. I don't recall anyone moaning when Arsenal were winning trophies and Chelsea won the league etc yet when United win things people are quick to try and tarnish it ala Hansen on MOTD <ok>

The bottom line is United always have been and always will be media darlings and their misdemeanours will always be covered up by the press. I think that is what infuriates people most.

Look how quick journalists/pundits were to call for Drogba to be banned for life and be sacked by Chelsea etc after he swore into a camera after a CL football that in the context of things was far more justifiable than Rooney. When Rooney did it Steven Howard and other pro-United muppets (i.e the entire press) were quick to slate the FA. The same thing with the aftermath of the two most recent Chelsea wins over United (moreso the latter). Atkinson was slated by Howard and his view was supported by the press when in fact he got all but one of the major decisions right.

The staggering media bias towards United is certainly another thing that winds people up. Particularly when clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal to a lesser extent get so much bad press <ok>

    Steven Howard?

Try reading a newspaper instead of a comic. Are you, as a Chelsea fan, seriously trying to say you do not get the rub of the green in your home games just like EVERY big premier league club, including poor old little Arsenal, get?

Fans see what they want to see and particularly pay more attention when their own team is involved. I personally think the reaction to Rooneys swearing at the camera was far worse than Drogbas but as a Chelsea fan you obviously have a different opinion.

Also you say United misdimeanours are less covered, I personally think United's are covered far more than any other teams because we are in the spot light so much.

In terms of the media darlings, I think that title belongs to liverpool, people always talk about how long it's been since Arsenal won a trophy but don't seem to mention how long it's been since Liverpool won anything ? When listening to the commentary on Liverpool games the commentator always seems to refer to Liverpool players by the first names. I personally think United are far from media darlings but different teams fans will always have a different perspective.<ok>

Well we're always told that we're a small club so I'll go along with that ;)

I don't read The Sun but I know people that buy it daily and I've seen first hand the garbage that man rights and The Sun in general

I personally think nearly all home teams get the decisions simple as. I do agree that the Top 6 are less likely to have a decision given against them at home than the others though, but not to the extent of United. Webb (Ironically) seems the only ref capable of reffing United games with impartiality these days.

In our first 2 games we had 4 stonewall penalties not given, I don't believe for a second they would not have been given if it were United which is all I'm saying.

The bottom line is, with the spotlight that comes with reffing a United game, if you balls up and it costs them you'll be reffing Championship or League 1 games the following week, that is a fact. Fergie and co have the power to ruin a referees career. I don't think Atkinson or Dean have had a United/Chelsea game since Fergie spoke out against them in matches against Chelsea

That's because we sacked two of our manager for not winning anything. Arsenal haven't.

You make it sound like sacking your managers is a good thing ? Arsenal have stood by their manager, rightly so in my opinion, and have been getting closer to winning trophies than Liverpool have been.

It's not a pop at Liverpool, it's more that I don't understand why Arsenals run gets so much attention whilst Liverpools doesn't.
