You never mentioned Sky?, the Premier League only exists because of Sky and the big clubs that wanted more money, you'd be totally insane to think a league without the current top 6 would attract Sky)BT or the likes of Bein Sports, I'm totally against a super League that would see football in England wither away and die, but it's heading in that direction and the club's that miss the gravy train will be be ****ed.
Pj needs a reality check. Let's assume for a moment. A) Everton build their stadium. B) wages in the post super league era could be balanced and compensated for so that contracts don't cripple clubs C) a super league is the equivilant all other clubs being relegated to championship. So...... first off. Evertons 500mil stadium.... how would that be paid for if the revenue streams were halved (minimum) More serious now. Everton might be ok once wages all go down and contracts are paid down (max 5 years)but what about clubs in championship chasing premier league, the villas etc... now they may as well be league2clubs but all pay big wages and all the dodgy owners chasing the big time are suddenly cut off from it.
The obsession is strong with theses ones. Let's ignore our makeshift defence since the start of December (yet still best in the league), Chamberlain being out all season and the likes of lallana perma injured
So the worlds population will just fo You think the top six clubs will be invited? Who will make up this super league? Six PL sides. That leaves 14 ish from the remaining leagues. Real and Barca and Athletico. That leaves 11 spots
please log in to view this image It's the year 2049, Lazar Markovic pays tribute to his former employee, Liverpool Football Club. Some say he's still on the payroll though. i ****ing hope not!!!
played well in u23s last night. jimmy will be on saying he could be the guy to win us the league shortly.
btw... chelsess manager is apparently now a genius for beating spurs due to a bottle job and a **** keeper apparently his public caning of hazard and Kante etc has yielded a tremendous performance from his players... apparently. if Chelsea lost on pens last night... what would stories be?
Bayern and Borrussia Dortmund would also, AC and Inter Milan and Juve, PSG, Ajax, Porto, Benfica Celtic, if a super League did ever come into existence the English top league would be ****e and not very attractive to the TV companies enough to pay big bucks. Like I said I'm against it happening but the way the game is going I think the big clubs will want to break away if they don't get the extra money they want.
Celtic....FFS. It wouldn’t be ****e, these sides now appear to snaffle up the best talent. What will happen is that transfers from non super league clubs to super league clubs would be more inflated than they are now to PL clubs. The quality wouldn’t drop from those outside of the super league, there are only so many squad places. I am with you, would prefer it to not happen. But don’t predict the downfall of those never going to make it into the elite.
Well to be fair it is ruddy justified. A lot of clubs can buy decent players now who have done or won nothing to merit it. Its the big 6 that draw the viewing figures.
@PJ, Any newly formed super league would dictate their own financial terms, and Uefa would just kiss their collective arses, because without Europe's biggest clubs Uefa wouldn't have a competition worth entering and they know it, that's why they bowed to pressure and changed the format of the European Cup and changed its name, rules for entry into the competition and upped the financial rewards for the club's.
