Yeah he was a miserable git when I worked with him in late eighties. Chilli on the other hand,..complete legend, the man and the player.
The secret to his prolific scoring record was apparently the curry sauce lavished on said fish and chips.
The original leader of the City Psychos wasn't even from Hull but a small Cockney chap called Jacko who once charged into 20,000 Sunderland fans in Kempton on his own.
McKechnie was all smiles until someone threw a pint of squash over him as they didn't have any oranges.
Refused to **** off when trying to chat a mates bird up. Gave the immortal line Don't you know who I am Broken cheekbone or was it jaw followed
First period he was here she was getting shagged unmercilessly on the side by a lad from Swanland ... no doubt while Keith was out doing his favourite past time .. walking the dog ! Was it you ?
I like the fella, always greets me as a friend. Ken Wagstaff was a fabulous player in his day and I consider myself a lucky bloke to have seen every home game he played in a Hull City shirt and several away. It's not a myth that he and Chris Chilton were a magnificent goal scoring partnership in their prime, it is a fact, and both should have played for England, who at that time were picking players who couldn't lace their boots, ie; Mick Jones.
Waggy worked on a production line at Fenners… Apparently he was slow. When one of the line managers told him to quicken his pace. He said he'd always been a plodder, to which the bloke said..I'm not talking about your time at City. I've never met Waggy, so don't know him, but heard some stories from various people which suggest he was right up his own backside. PS...From the comments above...confirmed..
Myth, from the horses mouth the charge from the Kempton towards the Sunderland fans in the South Stand was made by Taff and Trogg, £50 fine Taff and £100 Trogg. ( the actual amounts of the fines could have been exaggerated over the years)
My old man got Waggys autograph for me in the car park at Beverley Races ,where he was counting his winnings.Would never give his autograph to a young lad This is also true, towards the end of his career I got to know Mally Lord anyway after he retired myself ,a mate and Mally went to see City play, went into the North Stand supporters club,me and my mate showed our membership cards,Mally hadn’t one.The guy refused to let him in as he was not a member.I ve been with City for 13 years as a player.Still he refused, me and my mate finally persuaded him to let Mally in.He never came with us again! I did argue the toss with him about City’s 4 nil win at Peterborough Watney Cup 70 i said Chillo and Waggy scored 2 each, No they didn’t he said,we carried on arguing He said he was playing and he should know, I let it be but I was right!
Yeah Waggy, Waggy, Waggy, Oi Oi Oi. Waggy used to run a club in Hessle with another prominent City Psycho called Enoch, they used to conspire together to spike City Legend (sic) Jimmy Bullards drinks and encourage him to be the bar twat.
I always had a soft spot for Mally Lord - a local lad who appeared to never give less than his all, scored some vital goals too if memory serves ..... took dogs abuse at times, he seemed to be a favourite target for the boo-boys of yesteryear.
After the receivers came in and sacked Mike Smith in 1982 we couldn't afford a real manager so for the next season we got scruffy City fan Simon Gray to pretend to be Colin Appleton until we could afford the real Colin Appleton. No one ever noticed.
Nope, it was Henry the mild-mannered janitor. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
