Hey I complemented his guitar playing, I heard him play the solo from Queen's "Hammer to Fall" and it was actually one of the better attempts I have seen.
    Some people butcher that Solo.
He was no Brian May of course, but it was a decent go!

  2. After one gig, a punter complimented me on my work during one of our many Floyd numbers.

"You're no Dave Gilmore, mind!" he cautioned.

"I have no intention of trying to be," I told him.

I then pointed out to him that when Dave Gilmore goes on stage, he only has to be himself. When I go on stage, people expect me to be Dave Gilmore, Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi, Mick Ralphs, Steve Lukather, Richie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, Billy Gibbons, etc.

It would be a fantastic achievement if I could be all of those superb guitarists. I am content that I can get close enough to each of them to make the performance worth while.

    What about Yngwie Malmsteen! :p

Yeah I know, there's a reason those guys are legends.
    They created their own sounds.
When you can hear them play and recognise who it is just by their playing, thats when you know.....you can identify them just as much as a singer when they sing
Van Halen, Hendrix, May are all instantly recognisable, as soon as you hear them, same as the guys you listed.

Should have stopped after the red onions.
    Peppers and mushrooms are gross.

My mate used to run his own Pizza place, and lived in the flat above it.
Was awesome, we'd all get stoned and then when we got the munchies we'd walk downstairs and stick a pizza in the oven with whatever we wanted on it.
Then we'd go upstairs and he'd make us watch **** movies like Flesh + Blood (not Rutger Hauer's finest moment)

I worked in a pizza place for around 6 years, mostly as a student. We'd make pizza to take with us and then get stoned.

Went to a mates flat after work once and were smoking weed and drinking. All good so far. Then this absolutely gorgeous girl comes in and sits and smokes with us. Not kidding she was a beauty.

Anyway after the weed and drink ran out she picks up a bottle of lynx and using a towel starts getting high on it. ****ing lynx man wtf??

And yeah we watched some **** movies too. One of the lads had interest in watching non mainstream stuff that was weird

Remember one called the stepfather or something. Which was actually really good.

Some of my mates at school used to do that, spray lynx on the sleeves of their bomber jackets and sniff it.
    ****ing gross!

Have to say I like mushrooms.

In this case the garlic butter makes them garlic mushrooms which I'm a big fan of

Deodrant is rough as arseholes. Anti perspirant more smooth.

My useless fact of the day.

    I take it you're partaken?

Have to be honest and say my ventures with getting high are very limited

Never really been a drugs guy, albeit have smoked bud in the past. In my day it was mainly resin which imho was never really all that, loads of lads would lace it with something too which I wasn't a fan of

Drink, but mainly spirits, was my thing for a bit. And was enough

Stuff like glue and petrol and deodrants (lol) were something I kept well clear of

Only a couple times, thought it was a bit **** really and a bit like poppers though I used a bag rather than cloth.

Can understand why it was popular in the 70s as there was less available then whereas now what kid goes the solvent route rather than ecstasy (if that makes sense).

    Yeah I get you

Different world now. Ease of access is something else these days

If I can use the porn example, kids these days don't need to find a copy of razzle in some hedges

    For good reason too.
Can give you aneurysms and strokes and ****.
    Steer well clear.
And I used to have mates who'd snigger when i said that and be like "Yeah I do it all the time and im okay".....
Yeah I am sure people have jumped off cliffs and survived before, I still wouldn't recommend doing it if you value your life though.

Given that we are currently dealing with the effects of the mother-in-law having a double aneurysm, one of which burst, and which has left her in a wheelchair and paralysed down her right side, I would wholly agree ... avoid anything that could have such consequences ... she was fit as a fiddle before that happened .... she's now had 2 brain ops and whilst she has improved remarkably will never be out of a wheelchair again ...

Was always a bit of a "pussy" when it came to drugs n that. Looking back it was a wise move. Seen too many mates and acquaintances messed up with drugs and drink
