I'd class Grigg as championship standard, he's on a bit less than one in two for Wigan, and it looks like we would get him if we offered enough. Probably wouldn't be able to get him if we were mid table but he can see we'd look good for promotion with a prolific goalscorer.

Leadbitter would be a welcome addition to the squad but I don't think he's drastically going to change how our midfield performs. The key to improving their performances is getting Honeyman back in the side and the change in system that will bring about. I'd rather see the money that would be spent on Leadbitter put towards making a signing that will have significant impact on the side. Especially with Maja going and the possibility that goals may now dry up.

I think its safe to say that we will see at least two new players coming in, JR will, or should, by now know whats required in this league, I am confident he will make the right choices on what we have seen of him so far. Onwards and Upwards.

Well it looks pretty certain that Leadbitter is being signed, and by all accounts he has took an 80% pay cut to come here.. He would not have been my choice, but will have my full support..

He's a bit same as the others, no pace, we need someone to drive on not sit back , think Grant is well past his very average sell by date, hope he doesn't come.

If he keeps mcgeouch out of the team (who I don't rate at all), then that'll do me.

Yeah, he is. Little sell on value either. Don't really see what we gain by signing him. There must be better options available.

Well I'm delighted with this. Admittedly clueless as well when compared to a lot of you lads but for some reason can see this working very well for us and him. Boro have about 10 CMs on the books apparently so no shame in not being 1st choice (Pulis plays 5 every game mind I'm told!)

Moore and Lowe for me (Barnsley and Portsmouth) Leadbitter will stop this team faltering like they are now, and I would have any championship player back (apart from Danny graham mind)

A year or 2 contract, brought in to add an extra option in the middle, can't do any harm if he is willing to cut his wages.

He plays as a deep midfielder at Boro, and mcgeouch hasn't impressed in that role. Robson injured and needs time to get back to his best, Cattermole doing well but on stupid wages plus a combination of cards and wages means he isn't always available.

Is he going to set the world on fire? No, but he offers a solid option imo.

Edit : that hitc article says we already have a tidy player to call on in catts and mcgeouch. Just in case you missed the fact I don't rate mcgeouch, I don't. He's failed to deliver on his promise

It is splitting opinion on all SAFC-related social media fella. I put something on Twitter about it, and received agreement and disagreement

I agree with you - he is an addition to what we already have.
    Others see it differently

He plays deep purely because of Pulis and his negative long ball tactics. Just like Mcgeouch and Catts he has no pace and height, so thats 3 players all in the same mould. Id much rather give Mumba a run of games and see how he gets on.
It is being reported he's going to sign on a 18month contract on wages between 5 and 10k a week. Do you really think spending up to 40k a month for a 33 year old is worth it ??#GRANTLEADBOOTS

It doesn't seem to fit with how the owners have said they want to run the club. I'd understand spending that much (or more) on a 33 year old who was pure class and was going to make a massive difference to the side. Maybe Grant's love for the club will propel him to perform miracles but somehow I doubt it.

    @RokerReport
Pete O’Rourke (a usually dependable source of #SAFC transfer info) says that we have bid £2m for Kieffer Moore.

    I hope this is true.

I would love us to go for Marcus Maddison as well

I got told this was happening in the summer. Apparently the problem is trying to get Middlesborough to subsidise his wages. He's on about 20k and we can offer just over 5k. That's the rumour.
