He goes to bed each night dreaming of middlesbrough’s back 4, and reflecting fondly about the days we had Matt smith upfront.
Not so sure about that one, Bucks. I remember Bielsa saying that he needed 6 u23 matches before he could play. Something about the twisting & turning required & how being out for so long affects that. I'm guessing in layman's terms that a long and careful rehab is required, given that we jumped the gun the last time, plus Chelsea may well be having a say in it.
i always thought he was poor on the wing. Didn't fit in with the wingplay triangles - mainly because he didn't have the discipline to stay out there - he kept creeping infield (unless that was the gameplan, of course, but I don't see it). I remember commenting that he might be more suited in the middle because of this, so you can blame me!
A lot of it is in the mind as well. I doubt he'll be going at it 100% for fear of picking up another long term injury.
Phil did say he expects him to make the bench as lots depends on Price and how he says he responds to training etc. Cooper had a run out with the 23s but Ayling came straight back in, so I guess it depends on Price and what he says
I wonder if he meant 6 games before considered in a starting position. I'd like to see him on the bench, would be good to introduce him for at least the final 15/20 minutes
The obvious one would be David Moyes going from Preston to Everton, although Bolton appointed Gary Megson as manager in 2007, when they were bottom of the Premier League just 41 days after Megson had been appointed manager of Leicester, who were struggling in the championship. Also Chris Hughton in 2012 joined Norwich in the Premier League after Birmingham who had lost in the Championship play offs the previous season gave him permission to speak to Norwich. I didn't hear the article on Talksport so no idea what their definition of poached is, but I'd say its a typical TS fact that they just spout without doing any research (although if they meant as in managers who had never managed a premier league club previously, then I would revert back to David Moyes as my answer)
Seeing as hes a winger and puts the ball in on the deck from videos i have seen he would be ok. We dont have anyone to jump for it anyway. Think he is ready made for the bielsa way.
So far there's us,man city, spurs and liverpool entered. And stoke, millwall and Rotherham have entered the big donkey section, there's a message there somewhere, but I can't see it can you ?
