    Match Preview
So here it is, the FA Cup 4th round. First time in a long while that we've been here, and dare I say, with a good performance we could even go further. Pompey aren't going to brush overs though, as they sit top of League 1, 1 point clear of Luton, and on 57 points from 27 games. They have lost their last two though, away to Oxford and at home to Blackpool, which makes me hope they are having a bit of a wobble. Their top scorer is Jamal Lowe, a midfielder who not long ago worked as a PE teacher whilst playing in the non-league. Lets be hoping he can be easily dealt with and kept quiet on Saturday. Or, let's hope that former Rangers assistant and now Pompey manager, Kenny Jackett, and his number 2 Joe Gallen (Kevin and Steve Gallen's older brother), still have a soft spot for us and put out a team that are beatable. Looks like they are doing a great job down on the south coast though, and I doubt they'll be wanting to do us any favours.

I'll update with team news when it goes on the official.

Enjoy those who are going and come on you Super Hoopsa!

    From the official;

R’s looking to silence Pompey chimes

QUEENS PARK RANGERS have the opportunity to reach the FA Cup 5th Round for the first time in 22 years when facing League One leaders Portsmouth this weekend.

It’s well documented the struggles QPR have faced in this competition during recent years but a win against Leeds in the last round and drawing a team in a division below has given the QPR faithful hope of progression.

But that’s not to suggest that QPR’s task on Saturday will be an easy one – far from it! Portsmouth are having an excellent season and Kenny Jackett’s side are top of League One. The south-coast outfit have already pulled off a shock when they knocked the Championship's 2nd place side Norwich out in the last round and will fancy their chances against any opposition at their fortress Fratton Park.

Much like Rangers, Pompey will probably enjoy the distraction of a cup fixture. Their league form has dipped since the turn of the year and they were beaten by Oxford, who are in the relegation zone, last time out.

It’s almost eight years since the two teams met – a league match in which the R’s were comfortable 2-0 winners but this is the first time the two sides will compete in the FA Cup. It’s easy to forget that that Pompey were winners of this tournament back in 2008 under former QPR manager Harry Redknapp.

Portsmouth have a very busy week

Quarter Final of Football League Trophy tonight versus a useful Peterborough. Possibly Portsmouths best chance of getting to Wembley this year
Saturday 4th Round Cup vs Us
Tuesday (a week today) very important league match, away to 2nd place Luton

And as Dave says, they have lost their last two (at home to Blackpool, away to Oxford) and are in a minislump. Just like Preston were before last weekend. They have an injury crisis especially amongst their forwards, and I think Wheeler is unable to play for them too(!!!)..
......................so that is a definite then, what could possibly go wrong!!!!!

Never heard of this thing called a 5th round...you speak in a strange tongue Tramore... and don't worry we won't speak about it again....

My team except for Ingrams for Lumley. The poor bloke gas to play sometimes.

I would also have Lynch on the bench just in case

As we are finishing 12th-16th in the league, let's concentrate on the cup. My main concern is we often freeze when there is large travelling support in our favour.

Just hope it's more Wembley or Hillsborough rather than Selhurst ,Griffin Park or Craven Cottage. How many tickets have we sold in the end?

If Ingram plays then game over, they will pummel him for 90 mins.

The last time we won away in the 4th round of the FA Cup was against Oxford ( 2-0 ) in the 1972/73 season.

    C'mon Rangers!!!

Wheeler scores first ( only) goal for Pompey in 86 minute Vs Peterborough. Glad he can't play against us.

The other half of the family are Pompey so this one will be interesting. We should walk it but as it's the cup there are no guarantees and despite our previous shocking cup record I think we'd still be considered a scalp for Portsmouth if not exactly a giant-killing.

I think that their strategic priority will be outright promotion, so possibly they will field a reserve team.

This does not mean that it will be any easier for us, but certainly even more physical and demanding!

We will need to show our class to win.

Off to sit in the Fratton end with a Pompey friend of mine and his son. Probably won't wear my hoops shirt (!). Pompey are firing well at the top of League 1, but are not great at home. So we need to be aware of their counterattacking abilities. Could be a good match.

The Guinness will be flowing on the party train from Wokingham.

And by flowing I mean I’ll have two.
