Van Dijk on texts from Dalglish and making LFC history Chris Shaw @__ChrisShaw Virgil van Dijk takes inspiration from Sir Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool's legendary former players as he aims to achieve modern success with the club. The centre-back has been a formidable influence on the Reds team – who lead the Premier League and are safely into the Champions League last 16 – since sealing a switch from Southampton a year ago. It was at the time Van Dijk completed his transfer to Liverpool that the Netherlands international swapped phone numbers with Dalglish, with the pair occasionally in touch ahead of matches. pre net spend this season. it's been reported since last year's figures came.out with an eye opening profit off that main stand
Just watching one of those real life police documentaries on tv, so they arrest some man accused of fighting(before the police got to the scene), he argues the toss that it wasn't him etc so two police officers pounce on him and handcuff him(arms behind his back)and put him in a cage in a van with a lift up hatch rear door. Then they head a few miles back to the station to book him, thing is the poor bastard is stuck in a cage handcuffed and not wearing a seatbelt, if the van is involved in a crash he's ****ed and he's going to get injured if the driver has to suddenly slam on the brakes. It could be said "well **** him he's broken the law", but as up that point there's no definite proof he has, surely even arrested people should be able to wear seatbelts, don't the police it's against the law to travel in a moving vehicle without wearing one.
Saw this on the BBC website: Now this is a very serious subject, and I don't want to trivialise it by taking the piss - but doesn't anyone there look at that headline and realise what a ****ing mess it is?
Those damn abusing mp's Well they take the piss with everything else.may as well be something else they get away with.
Youd think MP’s back Katie Price over online abuse would be a more appropriate headline - although for all I know having not read the article, it could be the MPs that have been abusing her
See before you click the link the headline is Katie price backed by MPs over online abuse. It’s only when you click into the article they change the headline to imply something completely different
I was reading the article about Sala, and there was a sidebar that contained the headline as I c&p'd it. The one on the front page is as it should have been written. I don't know - I suppose they leave the articles as written by the journo because they don't have the staff to proof-read everything, but the front pages are probably put together by a sub-editor who still retains a grasp of basic English.
Sometime police need to "do things" when apprehending a criminal. I'm not sure handcuffing a guy who hasn't resisted arrest is one of those times. Front seat is separated from the back with metal mesh right? Doors only open from outside? Handcuffs seem excessive for someone who is arrested peacefully but seem to be the norm.
The seats in American cop cars have the mesh seperating from and back seats but over here it's just a normal interior seat wise. I read a case not long ago where Chicago police?, transported an arrested man who was ill in the back of a van/truck and the police driver drove recklessly and over the speed limit(around corners etc)and when they reached they station the poor man in the back was dead, he had injuries to his body that were similar to getting beaten to death. All for the sake of a seatbelt.
Without the mesh between front and back I can understand the handcuffs. If someone flips and attacks police you don't want them to be able to cause an accident. I don't know about the UK, but there are several times in US where you can get away not wearing a seatbelt. In a bus, in an RV, in a Limo... I guess in a police car too. How DO you buckle someone who is in handcuffs though?
Yeah but over here when the police put a cuffed suspect in the back seat of a police car theres two officers and the person under arrest is put into a seatbelt. Much more sensible and safe.
