its what mp's in this country do. fraud, no problem just pay it back and pretend it never happened. average joe bloggs, what do you mean simple mistake! not good enough 3 yrs prison and let that be a lesson to you!!
I don't honestly think that he thinks he'll face charges in Las Vegas, he might be untouchable in Europe but if those lawyers over there think they've got a case they'll extradite him, and him pleading guilty to an act of dishonesty in Spain today won't paint a picture of him telling the truth in front of any future Nevada jury. The stupid **** should be keeping a low profile considering what could happen to him.
Sure if he were guilty he would have been in court for the US charges, unless he did a Jackson and paid off his victims. Spain allows the bending of tax rules then big fines, shame the same isn’t done here for tax bending and the fines used to pay for cleaning MPs moats or math lessons for Diane Abbot.
The investigation in Nevada is still under way so he still might end up over there facing charges and a court case. Whether or not Spain allow a guilty tax evaders to pay a massive fine or not, he's pleaded guilty to the dishonest act of evading tax in a court of law.
Okay, wasn’t sure if it were as per the UK cases of Tax avoidance using legal means at the time. More concerned what footballers do on the pitch. Maybe he will become footballs Lance Armstrong and used as an example to others who cheat/lie but are brilliant athletes. Didn’t Messi get done for Tax, and Mata and some others?
Yeah, Messi and others have been done for it, but they aren't facing a possible rape charge in the US.
Tonnes have been done in Spain for it. Mascherano, Mourinho as well as messi and ronaldo. Pretty sure there have been others as well.
Think the Spanish tax thing goes back to the fact that years ago pro footballers could get tax allowances as "cultural" assets so cutting tax bill substantially. When the crash happened naturally your average fella wanted to know why footballers were contributing so little so the tax breaks were removed. My guess is that then their financial advisors became "creative" to ensure that they didn't actually pay any more and it is those decisions that have come home to roost. obviously this is just imo and based solely on my misfiring memory.
According to journalists in France, Sala was seen going through border control in Nantes amid unconfirmed suggestions that he did embark the missing chartered jet. What a bollocks thing to happen. But it’s only like a bloke or woman setting off for work in the car and never coming home, just higher profile because he is a footballer.
