If he progress to the finals in one or both, his ranking will surely climb. Is this just the mens' doubles, Helen?
No, I think it includes mixed as well otherwise pairings would be the exact same ranking (unless one or other partner is injured, I suppose...) From memory, he and Soares didn't get very far in last year's Australian so yes, he should jump up the rankings.
Should have read up on this before replying - the doubles rankings don't include mixed, mainly because they're only played at the Grand Slams.
Tsitsipas through to his first semi GS where I suspect he will come up against Nadal, who I would imagine will be to wily for Tiafoe. Backing Tsitsipas to win on Sunday.
I've got a sneaking suspicion that Raonic is going to do very well. He's been very quietly demolishing his opposition... I've probably jinxed him now!
Just watched highlights of Tsitsipas's match v Federer and what a joy to watch. Will be fascinating to watch his game against Nadal. Contrasting styles which should make for a fantastic match. Nadal has the craft and amazing skills to dictate the game, but Tsitsipas will bring his own brand of talent to the court. If it comes down to speed, then Nadal will have his work cut out. This will be the match of the tournament and let's hope the young man from Greece prevails. .I love his demeanour as well.
After what seems like an eternity where the headlines were made by Serena Wiilliams, there is a wonderful freshness about the ladies singles final on Sunday with a rehjuvenated Kvitova v Osaka who has proven over the past two weeks that her US triumph was no fluke. It should be a great match up where the focus will be on the tennis conjured up by the players rather than the personality of the player.
Simply crushed. Nadal is the form of his life and is playing better than ever. At this rate he will get the grand slam before age and injury takes its toll but by then he will be the GOAT, maybe.
Looking forward to the Six Nations. I know it doesn't involve the Great All Blacks' but I am looking forward to it to take my mind off the**** that is Brexit. From my perspective there is very little difference in the abilites between 5 of the 6 teams involved. Last year England under-achieved, France have under-achieved for two decades!!! I feel England will win games that they lost last time, not by much as the reality is the teams are closely matched. Prediction: Although I love to see Ireland and Wales do well {my mother was Irish so I feel an affinity there}, while Wales just made me fall in love with the game due to the magic of Barry John, Gareth Edwards et al in the early 70s. I feel England will emerge as top dogs in games where the margins of victory are narrow - between 1 and 10 points.
I think Ireland and Wales will come out on top, as I still think England haven’t worked out yet their best 15. Key game will be the Ireland v England one. If England can win that in Dublin (unlikely in my opinion) they may stand a better chance, so there’ll be a lot of nerves. Looking forward to it though - love the 6 Nations!
