Did chicken thigh jerk chicken overnight. Was a bit watery (Thai style) but tasted lovely. That's for dinners (lunch to you pooves) , with rice.
Get yourself a shoulder of pork mate, cut the chunk of fat off and sling that, and stick the pork in the slow cooker with a bottle of bbq sauce, cayenne pepper, mustard and some paprika. 8 hours add a tiny bit of water if it looks dry.... get some cheese and coleslaw and some buns and that’s all lunches (dinner for you pooves) sorted for a week.
It was a marinade, Sainsbury's own. I added too much water, was leaving it overnight so was concerned it'd burn, so it's a bit wet. Be fine with rice though, i can bin off the surplus juice. It is nice an spicy, added a couple of bird eye chillies from my chilli plant that had weirdly managed to grow (outside) during winter and go orange.
The supermarket stuff isn't great, if you go onto Amazon and search Walkerswood Jerk Seasoning you can get a jar for about £5 it's really nice and will last ages, it's really hot though, as it should be.
You can make your own jerk seasoning probably with what you have in your cupboards. Garlic powder, cayenne pepper,onion powder, dried thyme, dried parsley, sugar, salt, paprika.
That's a terrible recipes. Allspice is essential as are the scotch bonnet chillis. The wet marinade is also much better than the dry rub.
Too much pearl barley, went very thick at the end. Had to add some water. Was very nice though, can't lie This is going to be Thursday's tea, have added some extra veg;
I nearly bought a slow cooker today, only a tenner in asda I havn't eaten since i went out for breakfast..Mind i did eat a canny bit, loads of black pudding as well. 8/10 for the place.
No it's not you posted a jerk recipe with no allspice and that's a key ingredient the fruity hot scotch bonnet is as well in my opinion other than any old Heat.
