I would not say that i hate Man u hate is a strong word it is rivalry that can become heated sometimes
Born in Liverpool and the rivalry was past over to me from a very young age
I have some mates that support Man u and they are good lads and girls

The thing that gets me is that both sets of fans take it that step further and the sick stuff comes out and
that is when tempers can and will flare.

Yes it really saddens me that people support a club they have no connection with and yes TV really is culprit for destroying the proper way to support a club. I don't respect people for making that decision though. It's unimaginative and a way to pick a club for the easiest possible ride and done by people that think football is simply about success. To me football is about your identity, who are, and where you or your family are from. I just can't see how anyone could care about a club that simply isn't theirs. I was brought up a few short miles away from Stamford Bridge and passed the club on a regular basis as a small child and simply everyone I knew supported them. That club feels part of me and my history in a way no one from the other country could.

I get your point about those that don't live near a big club. I have a mate from Exeter (Liverpool fan of course) and he tells me that most people from there support United and Liverpool. Exeter nearly went out of business recently and I can't help thinking that if all those people supported their local team they wouldn't be the mess they are in now.

I don't hate the club what I hate is the attitude of their so called fans. They always have an excuse if they have got beaten it was the refs fault for not giving is a penalty, or the forward was offside, or there was a foul in the build up to the goal. Any excuse except that they were beaten by the better side on the day. the same applies to their manager, he will blame everybody else except admit that Utd were beaten by the better side. I have never seen him admit that Utd were beatenby the better side in any game that they have lost. This goses to show just how arogant he is.

I agree with you. I now live in Somerset. I have lived in Europe and the Caribbean. My first visit to Anfield was in 1952. I paid my dues in the 60s and 70s. Life has since taken me far away but LFC has always been in my heart. There is absolutely no way that I could even consider giving any affiliation (let alone my heart) to any other club just because it was local

I started supporting Liverpool in May 2005, we have only won the FA cup since then which eliminates me as a glory hunter.
