Is that what you think I meant? Or more importantly Is that what Don Pettit says in the video, that "we don't have the technology" to go back to the moon?
"I would go to the moon in a nanosecond the problem is we don't have the the technology to do that anymore" Is what he actually said
Why ? Why destroy it ? Why, if built it in the 60s, can they not build it now when we are more advanced technology wise ? Of course it's not easy but to say we had the tech to do it in 60s , but not now...
For broadly similar reasons to the audio tape of Robert Kennedy's killing on which you can hear thirteen shots being fired from the assassins eight shot pistol.
The cost of researching and building the technology would be, excuse the pun, astronomical. And for what purpose? We've been to the moon. We've taken rock samples and brought them back to earth (as has been proven by the testimony of many geologists). We don't need to go to the moon now to actually analyse what's there - we have technology that can do that from earth and from satellites. If NASA had the technology in the 1960s to fake the moon landings imagine what they could fake now with all its modern computers and special effects. Man walking on Mars? Meetings with actually aliens? Eddie getting his hole? There's no reason to go back to the moon now unless the earth becomes too hot and we need to go live on another planet/satellite. But then, according to Eddie, there's no such things as global warming so our main reason to go to the moon doesn't actually exist.
