There's also the third way: signing obvious stopgaps means you have a player the manager, squad and player themselves all know aren't going to be there long and are just there to do a job until the preferred option becomes available sometime down the line ...which, half the time, turn out to be the hardest players to shift
Seri is **** mate, face up to it. Doesn't even get in the top 200 in the Cies midfielder rankings. You'll never guess where Winks is.....
'**** Seri' has a goal and two assists for a shocking Fulham side. Winks got his first goal in over two years for a good Tottenham side.
The CIES has Jorginho as the twelfth best midfielder over the last six months in all leagues and fourth best in the Prem. Go on the Prem board and ask Bob/ Bluey/ Ginge what they think of their very own Jorginho.
Dier is a defensive midfielder. Winks is meant to be Modric's heir according to some, people even genuinely call him Winkiesta. DM my arse, mate.
Winks has been our most defensive midfielder in most games he has played in the last three months. It's been him and Sissoko.
He's just been outshone and carried by Sissoko in many games. Moussa was defending and attacking superbly up until his injury, he was doing the job of two midfielders, there's a reason many of us are saying he's in with a shout of our POTS. CIES has Winks at 9th best in the Prem over the last six months yet Sissoko is at 18. Pogba at 22. Ruben Neves at 39. Sorry, Power, while this CIES may have some impressive feats, it's way of ranking players is utterly bizarre.
Arsenal fans used to say Modric was overrated because he didn't get goals and assists. Bring back the Gylfi-Chadli midfield for the goals!
Arsenal fans are the dumbest mugs on the planet mate. Funny how the moment Modric went Real they were joining in on all the plaudits.
He don't need them, he gets the ball forward to the attacking mids instead of playing 50 passes back and forth to Vertonghen or Davies.
