The only thing I'd say that Frankie might have learned from Mourinho is his skill at deflection. Everyone is talking about 'spygate' and not the woeful showing of his team and of him as a coach
They won't do that to a golden boy. Certain ex England internationals are immune to punishment, regardless of the crime
Well we can only hope that as the EFL conduct their 'thorough' investigation they will realise that much of what Frankie boy said was untrue. If they don't start a secondary investigation because Frank didn't talk in the 'utmost faith' towards Leeds, then hopefully it will be used in mitigation.
Oh I agree with you it's just that ths is the rule that the EFL are looking at as well as the general "bringing the game into disrepute" one. A lot of lawyers have paid for a lot of bottles of Dom Perignon arguing the merits of "good faith" let alone "utmost good faith"
U23s just equalised, 2-2, Diaz. Have to say Casilla looking authoritative in the air, good hands and exudes calm, even Wakey will like the way he catches. Brown with a few quality touches too.
I believe there is a precedent for 'cheating. April 2014, Palarse v Baardiff. Palarse DoF was at the centre of (successfully) getting the Baarfiff team sheet from one of their players. At he hearing (which I think was about 5 or 6 months later, they were found guilty & fined an undisclosed sum. Interestingly, the PL announced that the maximum fine for such an infringement was £25k. Also interesting was that the FA didn't think they should be involved, even though it was a senior official that was involved. Then again, had it been Leeds .....
You're correct about the precedent WJ. It was also alleged that Palace had attained the Aston Villa formation in a match played around the same time. Pulls was the manager and there was a lot of conjecture surrounding what exactly had occurred and whether rules were broken or not. One difference was that the Palace DOF at the time Iain Moody, denied all allegations. However Palace were nevertheless found guilty of breaching rule B.16 (which refers to " upmost good faith " being given to opposing sides) and given an undisclosed fine.
Yeh WJ I was aware of that one as it’s been mentioned on here... it is slightly different (worse imo) but it was also premier league not efl. It’s certainly a reference point you’d think. Interestingly Pulis, manager of palace then... admits to having done anything he can in the past to get info on teams: https://www.skysports.com/football/...ielsa-should-watch-spy-movies-says-tony-pulis And his current team Middlesbrough are one of the teams asking for full disclosure. Wasn’t it palace that we had the team disclosure spat with when wise was in charge?
Agreed. Was impressed by Casillas. We wondered when he was last in a tiny football ground with a crowd as low as 2-3k, in absolutely freezing weather. Didn't seem to bother him. He's deffo ready. Doesn't look like berra is, though. Came off injured. The dugout took a bit of a hammering (I was leaning on it, so not an urban myth). Strange thing for me was that the coaching team seemed quite dispassionate about it. Was it expected?
As long as it satisfies the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland, that's the main thing. No bias there, and absolutely binding. Have to say that I'm very disappointed in the YEP for not finding out info like this & making it public. Would be very helpful in rebutting all the nonsense that's being adopted as fact. Prolly because it involves journalism & not simply copying down stories they've been told. I also think that Leeds do not need to give the detailed account of their ways of working that the 11 clubs are demanding. It's absolutely none of their business how Leeds conduct their affairs. I can see their point if it's illegal behaviour, but who in their right mind would incriminate themselves in these circumstances. Well, apart from Bielsa.
I assumed that when the letter talked about full disclosure it was referring to detail of the scope and outcome of the EFL inquiry rather than a requirement for Leeds to incriminate themselves? The other thing to call out here also is that Bielsa used the presser to ensure that all other potential alleged offences were taken off the table in one fell swoop, rather than leaving more dirt to be dug up at intervals by truffling journos. Clever boy.
Sorry London, the last part of your post should read “ showing of his team, and him impersonating to be a coach”
