A worker always seeks to have all applicable tools in the toolbox,
regardless of whether you like or how often you use the tool.

Similarly when all you have is a hammer, every problem begins
    to look like a nail.

I am asking whether Pochettino refuses to use one tool (because
of dogma) , and similarly stating why Warnock achieves precisely
what he does as a manager.

There is a place for both. The best managers know when an arm round the shoulder and a little flattery is needed and when a no holds barred honest conversation is best. My point is that I trust Poch to get that balance right as I see no evidence of him being dismissed contemptuously or falling out with players. He's quite ruthless when he has no use for a player.

Today the lunatic fringe have moved on to moaning that Levy didn't stump up the cash for Moutinho in 2012

Somehow they miss the part where he did, only for third party bollocks to scupper the deal at the last minute - which just so happens to be the part Sky Sports omitted from their article on the subject that they're all moaning in response to

Bunch of ****ing lemmings the lot of them

"It was a great ball from GK"? I wonder if N'Koudou can find his way in from the cold, as the players still seem to like him?
Winks seems to be echoing Pochettino's team talk for the rest of it. Very Scott Parker-esque interview.
Comes across well on camera, doesn't he?

There's that word belief again. The Pochettino buzzwords are definitely sticking with the players.

He must have said something at half time, because we were a different team after the break, which begs the question, why doesn't he say it at the start?

Which is why buying players is risky. Doesn't take much to destroy team morale if players think one of their number is unfairly treated. I can see some point in bringing in a home grown player as it just adds to the squad.

Poch should show faith in George. I've always felt N'koudou has some menace in him but he hasn't had a long enough stint in the team to find his bearings. Similar attributes to Townsend, for me.

I agree but of our 6 AMs he is the worst by some distance so I'm not sure how he is going to get much game time except for injuries. Llorente has the same issue in that almost any combination of four of our 5 best AMs is better than a team with Llorente on it. We should probably have bought neither and instead signed one more expensive player and a cheap association trained player. But easy to say that with hindsight.

    That's the concern

There has to be the right balance for me.

Signing too many disrupts rhythm due to the need for too many to gel instantaneously while it may also potentially affect morale of existing players. Yet signing none means there’s an over-reliance on the same players to deliver better results whilst likely contributing to injuries if players aren’t getting adequate rests due to lack of sufficient depth.

That is Pochettino dogma, and is very concerning.

Thankfully GKN is at least having to endure the Spurs training sessions
(which at least he will have residual fitness to do N mins of a PL game
even if his timing is not up to PL speed) .

Because you never know when fate is going to call on you ...

There is the possibility that all that chasing by Fulham in the 1st half
literally drained them for the 2nd half. In which case the notorious
Pochettino fitness sessions do pay off.

Seri for one was good in the first half but barely featured in the second half.

I had to leave the Facebook group I was in (I think it was Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur, although there are a few that sound the same) because of the mad ones. I honestly think they are programmed to not be satisfied. Raise the bar and they'll expect higher. Do something well and they'll ask why we weren't doing it before, or that was something they suggested we should do. Do something badly and they produce the same old garbage. Discussion of the new stadium being somehow a good thing must be ignored. etc etc. Last Tuesday on a late night drive home I made the mistake of listening to TalkShite and there was an absolutely rabid "supporter" who was so angry with Levy it would have been funny if it wasn't so sad. He simply would not accept that Levy had done any good whatsoever, and that the team might have improved. When you have those presenters sticking up for Spurs you know you're hearing a mad one!
