They set the bar for the proliferation of Boybands that abound presently. They were the original Boy Band, later followed by The Sex Pistols, yet another manufactured boy band. The Beatles were awful and more people than not agree with that.
When they came back from Hamburg Epstein manufactured them into a pre-adolescent teen bopping boy band aimed specifically at 13 year old girls for ****s sake, what part of that don't you get? Surely even you have seen the black and white footage of them all dolled up for the girlies and singing pash like "She Loves You" and "Eight Days A Week".
And came back and were instantly turned into a boyband with silly infantile songs and lyrics for ****s sake man!! A manufactured boyband.
So you are denying they came back from Hamburg and were manufactured as a Boy Band in their pudding bowl haircuts, shiny staypress suits, jingly, jangly inane nursery rhyme music, with banal lyrics all aimed at the pre-adolescent teenage girls for which there is no documentary evidence whatsoever. Stick to your conspiracy theories for ****s sake. What they went on to create after was ****e music as well, in my opinion. There were far more relevant and edgy bands in the 60's with interesting views on the world unlike this bunch of pretend working class heroes from Liverpool, muzak by numbers for the uninitiated. The Kinks and The Who for example were far more relevant.
Manafactuted boy band ...no Manafactuted as a pop band ...yes But musically , after the initial pop phase , they are the most influential band in modern music history . I'd say every musician has heard a number of Beatles tracks ...and a number of musicians have been influenced by them. To right them off as ****e , that's hipster pish !
It's all a matter of opinion. And my opinion is that they were ****e. So **** if some musician twats think they were influential, counts for **** all, same as my opinion. Yet more examples of people that cannot think for themselves and must be told what they should and should not like. "We all live in a yellow submarine", "I am a Walnut!", "Hey Dude" all ****ing ****e, to name only a few.
