Divisional Standings 2. Canaries Plyd 29 Pts 51 11. Clarets Plyd 28 Pts 40 Franchise Records (League) Canaries 14-6-9 Clarets 10-8-10 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey there sports fans! Welcome to the Official PoliticalCanary match thread for the soccer matchup featuring: CANARIES @ CLARETS --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canaries are going into this matchup following a Two versus One victory @ The DeliaDome™ versus London Lions. Mid-season-draft-pick-midfield-linesman H. Lansbury converted a score attempt deep into overtime to wrap up all three ballgame points for Canaries after Lions took the offensive. Coach Lambert: “That's one thing I'll never question, is the attitude and commitment of the lads. They have been brilliant, they just don't know when they've been beaten and the crowd play their part as well in that." Canaries will be looking to carry on the momentum from that late score-attempt in their trip to NPC-North Franchise Clarets, who themselves are challenging for the Playoff-Bowl-Post-Season-Divisional-Positions. The previous matchup between these two sides finished as a Two versus Two tiegame in front of a capacity DeliaDome™, with both sides still having something to prove --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CLARETS most recently were defeated at the hands of YORKSHIRE ROVERZ, but have had a promising ballgame-series so far. They stand in at 11th in the Divisional Standings and only 6-ballgame-points away from the Playoff-Bowl positions. Coach Howe: "It's an opportunity wasted and you learn a lot from a defeat. We'll find we'll run out of games quickly if we don't build some momentum and get positive results" Travelling Franchise fans will be sure to remind Claret supporters that Coach Lambert was recently the target of a Managerial-Switch-Over involving Clarets, which had stired up ill-feelings with both sets of sports fans; however this will lead to a great atmosphere at the TurfTex™ Bowl and hopefully an enjoyable ballgame. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This sure is going to be a great Soccer matchup, so fill up your Coca-Cola™ tankards, get your hot-dog's and grab a seat for this smash-and-grab matchup, brought to you exclusively on the BBC 606!
Cheers Dave! As you can tell the HTML is quite a bit different over here, but hopefully I can evolve it into a more attractive format than this, it's not a looker to be honest!
oh god,i had hoped we had got rid of the idiot. is there a board anywhere not infested by this vermin. whats with the time of the posts- 04.53 PM. that should be either AM or 1653 PM (except the PM needn't be there either)
I wish I could speak with such confidence Canariez, I've just got a bad feeling about this one. Although that's probably just me being superstitious as I've just posted an essay on this subject.
I just feel in the past month we've not played our best football and the team are believing they can grind out a result out of nothing, and with norwich seemingly doing better on the road (where we've always had a consistent home record in the past). I can see us conceding again I hate to say. We've not had a good run of clean sheets all season. But Ruddy seems to be gaining the confidence game-by-game. Lets hope Holt re-captures some form tomorrow for Reading at home next week - Big game as we'll need the confidence going to Elland road. . . .
Cheers PC, makes me laugh every time! Canariez, I completely agree with your points. I reckon that in the last month Norwich have shown all the qualities of a promotion winning team, maybe even a title winning team. Believe it or not I'm saying that BECAUSE our strikers are having a poor patch at the moment, yet the lads go out and work as hard as they can for 90 minutes, and, as demonstrated, they will even grind until the very last kick of the game. We are playing way under par at the moment, but still getting the vital points, and thats exactly what Manchester United have been doing for years! I share your optimism Canariez, but I'm going to go one further... NCFC to win by two goals, maybe even one from a striker, the drought has to end sooner or later! Good to hear that Surman is getting back in shape... Imagine the midfield headache Lambert is going to have now, it must be bad enough as it is!
Today will be very tough, Burnley are a solid team. We will need to play better than we did against Millwall.
Is there anyway of linking it to the Burnley fans as well like on 606. I feel the only thing missing on this site is making thread with multiple teams in it! Ask the Hull boys or whoever set this up to sort it OUT, cant be that hard to do surely
Ok, Jackson starting. I hope he gets enough time on the pitch to get a good game. 5 defenders I see? Lambert must want to keep Burnley out with Charlie Austin and all that.
Forest 1 up! Our second place looking very shaky! Binners 1 up, not looking a great day if I'm honest.
Ahhhhh, noooo we're down 1 and that's us being lucky still to have Drury on the pitch! Looks like we're still not playing well.
I'm watching the game on a stream and NCFC are not playing well for a team in 2nd place in the division
We've realised that funnily enough, we haven't played well since Cardiff in mid January which doesn't sound that long ago, but truth is we've been below even average for 3 games and look like making it a fourth short of a miracle.
We ****ing LOVE Grant Holt! and I'll love him even more if we can at least avoid losing here. Pleaseeeeeee
