I agree with whoever was explaing about Zaha defensively, would leave robbo exposed. Dont think Zaha is a Klopp player. So if were me i would pass, but i do like zaha, good player
Exactly. He's only left out when rested or injured. Keita gets the odd game there but Mane is our LW. Strongest 11 Mane is easily our left sided winger, and Zaha isn't a patch on Mane. Back up signing like Shaq then we should be all over it, but he's going for about 7 times Shaqs price, so it's not worth it imo.
So I went looking for stats to support what I see. Shocked to see Zaha's output is very low considering he is the main focal point. 3 goals 2 assists. What I didn't expect to find is Mane already has 9 league goals one short of last season with 15 games to go. Firmino also has 9. Maybe it is how we play but hadn't noticed our front 3 are just as potent as they were last season without looking explosive.
if i remember rightly it was only me and greez that knew he was going to be quality. a lot of our fans turned their nose up to him as well as managers.
The issue we have is that everyone filled their boots in CL last year and this year we got a hell of a tough CL group. Facts: Firmino had 7 CL goals (group and qualifier) out of 10 goals total and had 6 league goals out of 15 scored total. This year firmino has 9 in league and only 2 in CL.... does that mean he was worse than last year? Maybe but it also shows group was easier in CL. Mane Mane got a hamstring injury last year but still had 3 goals from 4 CL games and has scored 6 league goals despite his red card suspension and hamstring injury. Mane has 9 league goals and 1 cl goal this year with no injures Salah: Salah had 6 CL goals (inc qualifier) and 18 league goals This year salah has 3 CL goals and 16 league goals So the facts show that IMO we didn't get a piss easy CL group but the forwards are going fairly similar work to last year. Mane's goal scoring this season is down IMO to him not getting injured or suspended so he's got a few more domestically. We have to remember we went to town on a poor enough porto side and then got what 6 goals off city and 7 off roma on route to CL final. We cant think that's going to just happen again... but the legaue form bodes well for us.
oh for god sake i was campaigning all summer for us to sign him!!! astro will have some bookmark somewhere in a folder. I even made up a story that I had inside scoop we were going to sign him to annoy RHC but RHC's mate told him we were never interested.
I wouldn't say I knew he'd be quality, every signing is a risk, but he certainly looked the part and was available for what is considered to be a small fee in football, there was no big risk. Especially when you consider Babel (miss) and Kuyt (hit) were signed for similar amounts from the Dutch league. Not that my record is great either; I didn't want Suarez, Coutinho, Salah, VVD, Alisson, etc
ok ffs, so it was just us 3 that knew he would be a quality signing. at £12 mill i cant believe we never took the ruddy chance on him
I made up a fee of 18million as what we were to pay and called it a bargain... If RHC's mate hadn't ruined it of course.
Only when klopp plays 433 but he clearly favours 4231 just doesn’t have the personnel for it atm, as we only have 1 wide player... hence Keita being shoved out there
think that might just be to keep Keita away from our goal considering his habit of coughing up possession.
LIVERPOOL REACH BUVAC AGREEMENT Liverpool have reached an agreement with former assistant manager Zeljko Buvac to officially leave the club. Buvac, Jurgen Klopp’s long-time former number two, left the club in April due to ‘personal reasons’. The 57-year-old remained a Liverpool employee and but will now not be returning to the club. Buvac first worked with Klopp in 1992 at Mainz before following the German to Dortmund and Liverpool. CARROLL TO TOTTENHAM? West Ham forward Andy Carroll is a shock contender to solve the striker crisis at Tottenham and could be on his way to north London for just £2m, according to the media. Carroll's contract expires at the end of the season with the newspaper reporting that Spurs would offer the 30-year-old an 18-month contract.
how clearly? Cos he did it at Dortmund?? The day he arrived at anfield he set about creating 433. He's not 3 years in and covering other issues playing 4231. my rationale for this: a) signings. He signed mane and played him wide right for one year with coutinho wide left. He then signs salah and moves coutinho to no 8 not no 10 and plays 433 with mane left and salah right. b) player positions. Lallana no 8 position for after signing mane. Ox put straight in at no 8 there after. c) keita starting position in first games. clearly no 8. Since returning form injury he is playing the guy wide left as imo he doesn't trust him to play CM at this time. d) comments on shaqiri. Klopp has clearly commented that shaqirir hasn't the tactical ability to play 8 for him yet, so he's played him where he is more comfortable. I would contend as a result klopp is making do with 4231 to accommodate shaqiri and keita especially (but fabinho to some extent) My view is klopp wants to see these players being free and interchanging not glued to wings. He wants firmino to drop deep and make extra CM at times from that false 9 position and he wants mane and salah to go where they need to.
