1-0 HT. Diabolical. Need to change the system at half-time. Take off Sanchez and throw on a midfielder. Really poor stuff and it doesn't bode well for the next few matches, at least.
Piss poor first half. No stand out performers. Llorente sadly wants to prove all the doubters right. Tactically we still insist on threading the eye of a needle. The second half can only get better based on that shambles
Utterly pathetic first half of football. I feared that we’d be disjointed and struggle to find rhythm with the absentees. It’d affect any team in the same position. I didnt think it’d be that bad, though. With the games we’ve got coming up, I don’t see it getting any better with the amount of changes we’re going to have to make in order to keep players fresh and prevent more injuries. We simply have to utilise remaining days of the transfer window.
Well, that wasn't good. It's hard to know how to put right half of what's wrong with the players on the bench. Maybe go to a 4 at the back and get Skippy on to provide some fight in the middle? It won't happen until the 70th minute, though and stand a fair chance of being too late by then.
Tbh...Eriksen has been the problem...his set pieces are shockingly bad for a school kid let alone a set piece specialist , he tracks back like he's carrying Rose and he has provides no leadership. Lamela is doing some kind of impression of his 1st season with us...to be honest I am not sure I have a positive thing to say about any of them (as hard as that is to believe).
If Levy doesn’t realise he’s going to have to dust off the chequebook after that display, nothing will.
Terrible half - Lucky to be just one down - No one playing particulalrly well, leaving us 3 v 3 at the back is recipe for disaster, time for Poch to do what he did last week and change this at HT, revert to 4 at the back move Toby alongside Winks in MF and get Eriksen playing in their half and push dele up alongside Llorente who might not have come out for the 2nd half if we had another option - and I am not disrespecting Sterling but Its a big ask for him to come on.
Really poor first half. Sanchez looks well off the pace and is causing nearly all the defensive problems and Llorente seems to kill every attack that comes his way, did they get given each other's instructions? Pochettino needs to be getting at least one of them off soon if there isn't a big change early in the second half.
Llorente needs to be reminded he's currently playing for a top four side. Lamela needs to stop his foolish over the top showboating and play with meaning. These two are costing us dear in this game. Pleased with our effort otherwise.
For me the two that have to improve are Eriksen & Dele maybe thay have been relying on Son and Kane too much, now they have to step up and make their class tell.
Difference is though. We know Eriksen and Lamela can be match winners with just one chance. Even in poor form they can still pull something out the bag. Yet we’ve been treated to the same **** from Winks week-in, week-out. I’m seriously sick of him. He does **** all every single game and it does my nut in.
Almost exactly a year ago we were losing 1 nil to Southampton away and playing like this...escaped with a draw... I would kill for a draw now!
