Second I’ve a five year old as well. Who virtually lives with us on weekends or holidays, proper Nannies shadow. I’m just a “hi Dandad, where’s Nanny” (she can say granddad just that’s my name so it’s stuck)

It’s strange ain’t it they make their own names. My dad wanted Bampi but they still call him Bammy and they are 28, 27 and 18. My brothers kids call him grandad but to mine he’s always Bammy Pete

I want grandchildren - but not whilst I’m still working.
The thing is, I don’t know where they might come from; my son is only interested in bodybuilding in the gym - he’s 25 and has never brought a girl (or boy) home and isn’t likely to any time soon.
My eldest daughter is the same - and she is 30 and living in China - she has invented all sorts of excuses to deter the couple of men who came sniffing.
My youngest is very career-driven and although she is in a stable relationship at present (with a fanatical Brighton fan - nice guy actually), kids are definitely NOT on the agenda.
All 3 of them do say they want kids ‘one day’ though.

If grandkids came first I would of had more kids <laugh>

As I said earlier Rae is with us every weekend for at least one night. She dumped us last weekend to go to her friends birthday and we was confused what to do. She did say to her nan where was she like it was nanny’s fault for not taking a Friday or Monday off to accommodate her though.
I’m just the one she pinches sweets of, she even bought me a sweet tin saying Granddads sweet tin. I just fill it with stuff she likes and never take any for myself.

well one set call both grandparents "nanny" I am grandad. My missus is nanny Lily, the other grandparents are nanny Lego and grandad Lego, Lego is obvious ... after the plastic bricks, which was given them when they arrived each time! nanny Lily is because we had a Yorkie of that name, and that became the way they recognised which grandparent they meant! They do not of course say "hello nanny Lily or Lego" simply nanny or grandad! eldest of the 3 is representing England in USA in a couple of months at world dance championships, we cant go as wife has a "tumour and cant fly" ………… its a cruel world...……….

They'll probably come when you're least expecting it!!

Eldest boy is a "likeable rogue", "bad-boy" sort that doesn't seem to settle even though he's in his mid-30's now! Five years ago he invited out for a drink, (which he had never done before or since) and told us that he had made a young lady pregnant! Grand-daughter is now almost 5 and is the most adorable little thing. We have her every other weekend and most Wednesday nights. I'm Grampy to her and she is my shadow!!

Youngest boy had a very bad accident 10 years ago where he turned a tractor over onto himself, crushing his pelvis!! He had several operations and the bones healed , but no-one was quite sure whether the "inside bits" worked properly, if at all. Thankfully, he now has an 18 month old son and is expecting child number 2 in July.
