Hello and welcome to the offical match thread for today's NextGen series game between Liverpool Under 19's and Molde Under 19's.

As Liverpool U19s prepare to make their away debut in Europe against Molde in the NextGen Series, Rodolfo Borrell is hoping his side can put on a good show for the Norwegian Liverpool fans. The Aker Stadion is expected to be full to capacity on Wednesday night as the Reds go in search of their first points in the tournament.

Kick-off is at 6pm BST and the tactician is well aware of how much the club is thought of all around the world.

"We have fantastic supporters all over the world and always the Liverpool fans back the team constantly through good and bad times," Borrell told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"I always say without the backing of our fans the club wouldn't be what it is. I know we have a lot of fans in Norway and I hope we can put on a good performance for them." Borrell is hoping his young side can show their true qualities after the first game disappointment at the hands of a very talented Sporting Lisbon outfit.

"I expect a different kind of the game to the one against Sporting Lisbon," he added.

"They were an extremely talented side. I expect Molde to be organised, very competitive and very strong because they have some big lads. I know Molde is a bit of an unknown name to some people but I can tell you their first team are playing very well and are top of their league. They have a very good youth system and they played very well in their first game when they beat Wolfsburg 3-1.

"It will be a competitive game played in a big stadium and it will be a fantastic experience for the lads."

The coach has warned his side about the importance of starting the game well and told them to stay focused at all times. He added: "We need to have the idea we can do a lot better than the first half against Sporting Lisbon.

"We must start games well in every game at any level. If you start badly you pay for it at the end of the game which is what happened against Sporting. We must keep our concentration at all times and I always say these games are always decided on the small details.A classic example was our league game at Swansea last week. We were 1-0 up and then in four minutes before half-time we were 2-1 down and a man down, so we need to keep our concentration.

"We are a young side and the players will learn from these things. We will continue to give our best in every game we play."

Decent from the boys if not amazing. Sterling's confidence sometimes looks like laziness when he isn't involved every second of the game, and i'm interested to see how he will develop. A january loan could be a good option for him, or even one next week.

Decent game of few chances. Molde haven't been too good in attack and therefore haven't created much. Liverpool have had a couple of decent chances but haven't finished them. Good goal by Liverpool and we look decent.

 

I'm gunna be honest.. I've never even heard of Molde!
