Nobody would buy Bamford without knowing he wouldn't break. They may gamble but not for more than £2m so we cannot lose £5m and on the books he's a £7m asset. We need to buy a striker and that's been my position all season since Bamford first injured. We lost Roofe earlier and got by just because we had a couple from Roberts but Klich chipped in too and Pablo. Can we rely on Roberts, Clarke, Edmondson, Stevens?
I think Ayling is getting a rough ride myself, he had Hernandez in front of him earlier in the season now he either has an inexperienced Clarke or a not very good Harrison, when Pablo played the position wide right he would find space and his movement would be clever. Inside of Ayling he had Phillips who also took up some great positional play. I personally feel we look better with a back 2 of Cooper and Pontus with Phillips sitting in front of them slotting into a back three when we don't have the ball and when we do being a defensive midfield playmaker. It gives Douglas and Ayling much more freedom to press forward. Once injuries and bans are sorted I believe we will revert back to a team that has Cooper, Phillips and Pontus all playing, the guy to lose out will be Forshaw or Klich, if we sign this new winger or wide player then it might release Ayling more down the right. Teams can't defend against two players tearing down the right, Pablo might not have done too much tearing down it but his skill and playmaking would have attracted attention hence giving Ayling just a second more on the ball and a bit more space.
All i can add is look at other teams and see how many strikers they have .my biggest fear is bielsa only knows to play one way. After stoke he said we showed no agression which led to use being bullied.surely with all his research he should have seen this coming. Doc we need to spend if not a striker then two attacking mids.
I've seen mentioned that 9 of the 11 are the following: Derby Norwich Bristol City Middlesbrough Preston Blackburn Bolton Millwall Birmingham Don't know who the remaining 2 are, but it's not the Sheffield clubs
If it's a choice between Klich or Forshaw, it's got to be Forshaw every time. Thought he was our best player by a mile yesterday.
Yeah agreed but look at the first 2 strikers we were killing ourselves to get Vydra massive flop on big wages in a poor Burnley team. The Chilean greedy twat who is on huge wages in Russia and another massive flop who isn't as good as Ekuban now. So buying any player is a big gamble but Vydra May have worked here but not in the Prem. Bamford will work here if he's fit and could work in the Prem but ?
Watched the lad from Swansea, Young James last night and he looked an handful, the blunts were very aware of him when he came on, maybe worth a punt at the right price.
No matter who plays in front of you, there's no excuse for the dire passing and the inability to tackle. I get the point about movement but he's not even getting the basics right atm.
That's better all these dome and gloom merchants talking about 15 points deduction is just plain stupid. The wife tells me they can't do that, and she is always right. So she tells me.
It's ****ing nonsense, which I'm sure is just 'mind games' designed to derail us. We should make no further comment. Bielsa wouldn't have 'owned up' without the club's lawyers pouring all over it first to see what 'punishment' we could get when we can't break a rule that doesn't actually exist. EFL must know this despite all their bullshit blustering.
Wouldnt be that confident LOL. Lawyers are not the brightest tools in the box in my experience and would need weeks rather than days to pour over the information. Even after that theyll likely get it wrong anyway
Me too. Thoroughly pissed off. As you say we do need to get a good run of wins to get back on track. The pack is too close to keep ****ing up results like this.
