I understand dissecting a defeat Eire... i’m as happy as anyone to dish out blame. First goal was a defensive shambles... errors from cooper and klich and even then, Ayling could have closed down quicker.

Second goal, Clarke was beaten too easily and foreshaw was ball watching.

I just don’t Think they’re all rubbish because they made mistakes.

We have had a catalogue of individual mistakes leading to goals recently... it is a worry, but they are individual mistakes rather than a team/system failing imo.

Bench looks weak though... and we need the midfielder/winger we lost replacing as a bare minimum. If Bamford really is ready for the knackers yard then I agree that’s another.

For all I think the side is good enough... i’m On record countless times as saying radz needs to beg borrow or steal to get reinforcements in, because these opportunities don’t present themselves that often... as you rightly point out, from our experience, all too infrequently.

Worst defender we have is Ayling. A really weak link and cant pass and play the ball as bielsa wants. Funny but i seem to remember him saying the defenders were fine

Here’s how I see it. People want the goalie, the defenders changing because we give away soft goals. For a few years previously people berated the midfield for giving the ball away and thought the defence was great. Was that down to the individuals involved? Many are the same... it was down to style of play and managerial priorities.

Monk played two defensive midfielders and gave them no one to pass to. But we were hard to break down because we set up not to concede.

Bielsa believes the best form of defence is attack. So we control the ball for large periods and play ball-playing defenders instructed to pass short.

Yes we could sign 4 Tony Pulis defenders, but we wouldn’t then control the game. In my experience fans are better at seeing what we do badly than what we do well and don’t always think through the repercussions of suggested changes. I’m Not saying you or others are doing that here I’m just saying that changes have repercussions.

You pick a style, you pick players who can play to it, you play to your strengths and try and work on your weaknesses but accept your weaknesses will show up at times. We have a team of ball playing dwarves who are pretty good at pass and move football... but we get short handed at the back, can’t defend set pieces etc. It’s how it is.

Good morning everyone from a dull Bardsey
Well lets get back to winning ways at Rotherham who lost at home by 2 clear goals .Lets face it these are the games we must win if we want promotion
I had my binoculars on and decided which striker would be good for us .We need a tall one with class who could fit in straightaway .Atall one so we have an alternative attacking options I immediately came up with Nelson Oliviera priced around £2.5m not too expensive and has vast experience in this league Described by many as a second Cantona enough said Young Daniel James came on in the second half and played well Swansea know his contract is up in June do they hope he will sign a new one or cut there lossesI tyhink that the latter will be the answer we just have to bide our time
Pontus should not have been sent off and unless we appeal gets a one match ban I think we should appeal
Finally the more you read the more bizaare football is.Defoe signed for Bournemouthat the age of 35 for 130k a week!
He was not up to scratch so they tried giving him away
Enter Rangers having fought off many financial problems whose playing staff get paid on average 10k a week So they offer to pay half his wages £65k a week and Bournemouth who exist on 10k crowds pay the rest you couldn't make this up!Madness

Regarding our "short" midfield, I seem to remember under Revie we didn't exactly have giants in midfield and they didn't do too badly. A bit of a random comment. <ok>

Too much samey samey in midfield due to lack of pace and creativity.

Stoke have massively under achieved this season, but have on paper at least, the best squad in the league. Not many of the top sides have got the better of them, they slip up against the lesser teams, thought we played quite well TBH and could have got something from the game.Lighten up guys,as Stokes manager said,Leeds are the best team in the league and will go up.<ok>

TBF Wakey if we were winning, nothing would be said regarding the height of the team. We could have a team full of lanky feckers, but if things weren't going right, supporters would be saying we've too many tall lads.<ok>
