I was very close to my grandparents and was heartbroken at their deaths so you have my sympathy old chap. It took a little while to get over their deaths but today I have so many great memories and recall and enjoy the wonderful stories they told me. I just hope I can be half as a good a grandparent to my grandchildren and that when I kick the bucket they have good memories of me too.
Forgot to mention that I had to smile when Valery put his arm round Redmond and led him away when it looked like it was going to kick off. Poacher turned gamekeeper
I think that the 3 CBs work perfectly with Bedders, Vester and Jack because there is height at the back, speed on the ground and with Bedders and Jack comfortable in stepping forward into midfield and using the ball intelligently with good distribution. It also allows the WBs to push forward more too. Oh, and a nightmare for oppo defences to defend at set pieces.
That is sad news and my sympathy is with you and your family. I still remember the moment in the early 1970’s when I too realised that my last grandparent died. They came out of a generation which seemed to have a wisdom and understanding which we in turn benefited from.
Remember the good times DTLW. Sorry for your loss. Nans are great for memories. Mine used to make the best rice pudding and would give me a lump of cheese to keep me quiet.
Reminded me of the game when we beat them 2-0 and both were own goals. We were singing ‘Who needs Rodriguez we’ve got your back four’ and shouting ‘Shoot!’ every time their back four got near to their own goal......
I think possibly Mackems and Luton for the autos and you can't rule out Barnsley and Charlton either, all I know is the Skates that I work with will be a lot more sweaty than usual now....
