Yeah was annoying he did that as he could have laid it off. Trouble is he isnt getting protection. Look at the dirty challenge in bmth game. Didnt even get a yellow
Only reason it annoys me in this day and age is he's so strong and brave when he thinks he's on goal... he drops easy when he's got nowhere to go... he had more than enough ball control and strength to get it honestly and if not they are only winning the ball back in their own box with our players pressing them... it's just unnecessary
You think playing Clyne who would be in a strop about not getting his move, or who would be worried about any potential injury preventing it, would be a better idea than Milner who you know for a fact will give 100%? Couldn't disagree more.
Agreed. People get moved under Klopp when they stop trying.... we all know Moreno is ****e but he's still here because he works hard. Clyne got a dose of the "I'm better than this " Bye
Really wouldn’t mind us going in for Zaha. Especially is klopp is going to play 4231 with firm central and mane on the right. Zaha would be perfect on the left for that pace and trickery. Prob cost 50m but would be a much better option than Keita
Good win. To be fair we expected 3 points from this match. It was harder than we thought but the result is all important now. Lessons confirmed from this weekend: We are currently winning when not performing to the best. To win the title all teams need a bit of luck. We were lucky with some poor goal keeping in Palace’s team. 2 clear GK errors and a handball not spotted by Robertson. We can be satisfied we are winning ugly but on the other hand we could get very anxious about our current form. Am I only one who getting a bit nervy about our sliding form? Yes we are still winning but sooner or later the luck will run out and our poor performances will give rise to poor results. I am also a bit nervy about the mancs resurgence and us may be needing to get a result there. Fingers crossed. Finally, Salah is on fire and scoring. Just wished he did not try to get penalties pushing the boundaries of fairness and legitimacy. The defender leg touched him and could hardly have brought him down. For me he doesn’t need to do that and if given as a pen, we would accused of cheating (correctly IMO).
It wasnt a dive anyway by many pundits descriptions Forget the pull sakho clearly kicked his leg, not gonna go into the numerous times we have come up against this. Ftr i really dislike the fact that those are given but they are now and we will have them against us too. As for the handballs htf did they miss the first one let alnoe give the free kick against us Ah well more fuel for the haters
Well, you lads have now reached the 23 game mark and are sure to be at least 4 points in front Forget the lead at on Christmas day or New Years day, now is 23 games into the season. I mention this because a while back Newcastle had a 12 point lead after 23 games and lost the league by 4 points. You have to keep going to the end.
Going well of course, but I still think City will win. I'm not sure what the record points total for 2nd place is, but I think we will get close or beat it
Think you will beat it mate, you will probably get enough points to have won the title any year before last. You are still in pole position to win it and just need to equal City's results for the rest of the season with the added bonus of being in a position to slip up twice more than them. If I was given a choice I would prefer City to win it because they have done it before so meh. If given the choice between you lot and the Spuds it would be you, I just can't stand the Spud whining about refs, injuries, physical assaults on their players, red/yellow cards not given in every game and for all teams except theirs, clubs buying the league and their new stadium/cheese room
I still think City have more depth to last until the end of the season and will win the title, but each week means one less week we have to maintain the lead. City has probably the best team in the world. It will be a huge achievement to still be winning come May.
Zaha had Milner on toast. I often look at Zaha and think that he'd thrive in our team but then see him failing to track Milner back for one of our goals.....not a bad option to have off the bench I guess
For an experienced pro, Milner often makes poor decisions. Will cut him slack because he’s not a RB and zaha is difficult but he’s been poor for a while. Maybe the rest will do him some good. The sooner we get our first choice defence back, the better. The constant chopping and changing due to injuries isn’t helping.
Let’s hope it is not long lived and that the results do not start reflecting the deteriorating performances. Not that surprising taking into account the injuries (future suspensions) tiredness and the number of matches coming up plus the depth of our squad. Like someone else said we are working our car at max revs. I cannot see how much else we can give. Let’s hope that City’s are also at their top capacity but I have a suspicion that they have a bit more legroom than us.
