Interestingly though, we didn't press Everton as high up the pitch at times today compared to other opposition.
Guessing it's a product of having played a really punishing midweek game. Certainly still transitioned into attack quickly, which is nice.
I thought it was quite a responsible press. Respectful of the attacking pace they had, but I don’t recall their centre backs ever having too much time on the ball to set there attacks off
Just watching the highlights on sky match choice. How nice is it to see Redmond playing with a constant smile on his face, rather than moaning at his teammates?!! Ralph has created a fantastic team ethos by the looks of it and the players are loving playing again!
But Austin is a proven PL scorer, although often crocked he can still be useful. And who do we buy to replace him? Carillo, Gabbiadini, Osvaldo. Big name strikers without PL experience can be an expensive gamble. Felt sorry for Sharpe but the championship really was his level.
He wasn't in the squad today, despite Obafemi being injured and no-one new yet signed (if there is going to be someone new signed before 31 Jan). Moreover, he was also fresh after a week off. So to be left out is quite telling. I highly doubt we would let him go to another PL club this month. Hence top end Championship.
You’re probably correct. But unless we sign someone to compete with Ings we are really short of strikers. I didn’t think orbafarmy was an out and out striker, feel uncomfortable relying on a youth player out of position. After our foreign gambles I’m just not keen on signing a player unknown to English football.
We are saying that it would appear that Ings, Long and Gallagher are ahead in the pecking order and maybe Obafemi therefore it would not be shocking if he departs. He has only scored twice this season and his exclusion today could be telling.
Have SFC adopted the song, "things can only get better." Only disappointment today, being the attendance, just below 30,000.
