Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm very proud of the team. I don't know what's crazy about the game. We conceded some poor goals. The fourth shouldn't be allowed because there's a clear handball. So I'm not sure what's crazy about it, I'm disappointed for the boys that they've got got anything from it.

"You know they have extremely good players, you know it will be a hard task and it will require a lot of discipline and we did well to come back to 2-2 and 4-3 at the end after conceding a very unfair goal.

"You need character and personality and good team spirit, people prepared to stick to the game plan even when it's not going your way. We knew if we deviated from the plan we could find it very difficult but we stuck to our way of playing and really I should be stood here congratulating the lads on getting something out if it.

"We showed a lot of composure, created opportunities at will. There's been so many games this season where we've taken encouragement and we've played better than the result has shown. That disappoints me more than anything - I should be extremely satisfied but the fact we've lost 4-3 dents that."

Overall I thought we were ok first half and were unlucky to be trailing at the break. I thought Alisson could of done more for the first and third goal by the standards he has set this season.

Keita missing for most of it, for all of our good signings under Klopp he is starting to look like one who isn't made for us, you can see the quality (in flashes) but can easily be bullied. We'll see if Klopp can get him in form.

You can also can see the disruptions to our back four and midfield three effecting our overall defensive performances so hopefully with Gomez and TAA back soon we can start to get some rhythm going.

I do hope we shake these nerves and put in some more compounding performances but overall a good three points under the circumstances and we need to use this mini break for recovery and go again.

Yes. The goal was against the run of play, we were clearly the superior team in the first half, but despite that we didn't really look like we had any idea how to score.

It might have been a very different goal if the ref gave us the penalty in the first half.

Funny enough, Crystal Palace's first goal was exactly what WE needed. Before then they were defending cautiously and not giving us any chances.

Once they scored, they came out of their shell with no fear, that allowed us to put one... And then two goals past them.

It wasn't until they were 2-1 down that they remembered their defensive shape again... And paradoxically, despite trailing they began to defend again... And started to look good again.

I don't think it is too surprising that they're near the bottom of the table but able to beat City and gave us a tough run. Their defensive shape and counter attacking abilities is perfect foil against teams like us and City that play dominating and attacking football.

They need to defend and counter to do well... When they go and attack it messes up their defensive shape. They are giant slayers that need to fear fellow minnows.

Not seen the game but relieved we got the 3 points.

Impressive again to see the lads bounce back after going a goal down and then 2-2.

some shockingly poor defending tbh... but in the main once we scored second a lot of guys were swanning around think8ng thry were all that.

very sloppy passing and basically just risking the ball on nonsense.. it was like we expected the third to fall in after getting a deflected one from firmino and fluke for salah.

we need to get the head a right cos that **** won't wash most weeks.

Ha! I'm fine with us.... we are literally breaking records just to stay a fraction ahead. Either we win the league and nobody can say it was a weak one... or we get pipped to what everyone said was the best team the league has ever seen...

We should just play and see.

Matip for the first... jeez talk about not holding s line. Was 5 yards behind everyone else.

Clear handball for a pen missed so Woy moaning about Robbie handball was funny.

Allison will be disappointed with 3rd goal, should have saved jt

Salah was silly to go down when he felt the touch but he didn’t appeal for the pen, he carried on playing while on the floor so no idea what shearers moaning about

3 minute Over analysis of Robertson scraping the ball with the tips of his finger nails before the 4th goal. But Townsends handball gets a 'yes it was handball, lets move'

Everyone is going insane that he goes down with contact and doesn't even claim a penalty.

Imagine if one day he trips like Sterling without contact. Before he hits the ground media heads will have literally exploded.

yes Matip was playing all onside.

I would add off their second... Hodson had to have worked on tjat corner... there was nobody at all near post. Matip even was stood where klopp wanted him with nobody at all near him. that means the actions of the two players who fouled both fabinho and vvd were designed and demanded by Hodson so he can have a whine about unfairness???

finally I see it's salah dive disgrace again. nothing about a sensational finish to that first goal from nothing or his dribbling which terrified palace all game.

Apparently he must be, if he can stop the ball from going out by just waving his hand at it.

It's amazing what we're having to do just to keep our noses in front: score loads, immense defence (until today:(), ride our luck at times. We should be streets ahead but it's all in the balance. If we do win this we'll bloody well deserve it.

I do wish he'd pack it in though. If he gains too much of a reputation he's not going to get the genuine ones.
