Rumours that the two footed assailant was Rick Everitt. He ran onto the pitch thinking he had spotted a £2 coin.
I did say earlier this season that it's good to see our team mixing it with the opposition when necessary, getting in their faces and breaking up their play. Better than being brushed off the ball like light-weights. And I accept tempers are going to flare sometimes, and players will exchange handbags and maybe even a proper brawl from time to time. That's a bit different from our manager landing a proper punch on an opposing player - if that is what really has happened. I'm not going to say anything more about this now. I'm tired and disillusioned enough already. Granted had I been there, I would probably have been swept up in the atmosphere and would now be seeing this differently. I hope this whole business was nothing, at least nothing worth investigating further as far as the match officials are concerned.
Honestly can’t see what the problem is - Bowyer stuck one on the animal Sykes at full time Well done Lee
Bit of Reamsy in this link. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/11612171/charlton-1-0-accrington
Well done Phillips for keeping us in it with some great saves in the first half. Last 20mins was all us, could've been a few up. The penalty was one of the clearest I've seen at the Valley, don't understand why the Accrington players were so infuriated. Solly stepped in to protect the lino on a few occasions. Bowyer chinned no one, Williams and Sarr on the other hand...
Surely this was a red card for the fan, very high tackle and both feet off the ground! ….. plus a Charlton Mod in the background …. but which one? please log in to view this image
@AllHellLetLoose and @Royston Vasey you two jokers should have had the Accrington following bet. You both would have won, they brought 188
Watched the goal on Twitter Old Reamsy was actually at the pitchside already before the invasion. Must have been given special dispensation by Richard. It's also clear that the ref was in a better position than the lino to see the clear handball for the penalty, and it should not have been down to the lino.
This "invasion" then, how many fans were involved? Was it like a proper pitch invasion when your team stays in the league on the last day after your goalie comes up for a corner in the 99th minute and scores with a bullet header? Was it like a promotion pitch invasion?
