I'm not saying he wasn't but Cedric isn't the answer. A fully fit Bertrand will give us so much more balance.
Excellent win. IMO We will end up playing 95 mins minimum in most games, playing at the pace Ralph wants means time wasting for a breather I reckon. Romeu back to his best plus Bednarek and Stephens improving every week. Time for a few beers and enjoy that.
Think I am beginning to eat my words regarding JWP's value. What has happened in recent weeks beggars the question why the side were allowed to drift for two and a half years with a series poor managerial appointments? Answers on the postcard to Ralph Kruger..
All the Academy lads (plus Bedders, Vester and Oriol) are benefitting from time on the pitch and they are clearly becoming better through being coached properly and used in the correct way. Jack was good today and JWP always plays well when Pierre is also on the pitch.
Yep very strange. Didn’t think he had a very good performance overall but the time at the end was baffling. 4mins ok. Long stopped play for 1.5mins but we played 6.5mins. I certainly didn’t see any additional time wasting & actually we were shouting at Alex to take a yellow!
We actually have quite a young team now. Also, McCarthy looked like he had lost his place a few weeks' ago and now he looks assured as the number 1 again.
And erm, Pompey lost for the second game on the bounce. Are Saints and Pompey's fortunes literally the opposite of each other?
Not sure the blame falls on Kruger. Les Reed was responsible for the football. And tbf, the vast majority of supporters (on here at least) were all begging Saints to sign Hughes and when we did, people were happy. So it was easy for Gao being new to football and the club to just go with what his football director was telling him and what the fans wanted as well.
Not with Kenny Jackett at the helm. I do feel Pompey will end up in the play-offs at the end of the day, though.
