Can't remember the name but ex prime minister of Oz did a good article which was just so clear and sensible looked as if it made everyone happy with a leave. They're on the other side of the world but looks like these Ozzies could sort us better than we can
Could you please, I ask in all honesty, which media/newspaper is pro-Corbyn. This really perplexed me. I’ve also recently read that 80% of British media is owned by 5 persons and their companies/parent companies are ALL based outside the UK and NONE PAY A PENNY IN UK TAXES. But have an inordently huge influence on how politics and politicians are portryed in the UK. KTF
What I'm referring to in the post that you quote is a website/YouTube channel known as Evolve Politics. The influence of media outlets like this in the Social Media Age is becoming huge. However, I assume that this goes back to a previous discussion. Both the BBC and Channel 4 are particularly left-leaning (although not necessarily pro-Corbyn and not necessarily NE working class socialist) in their news coverage. Kuennsberg in particular struggles to hide her bias. This is what I was referring to when we talked about this previously.
If you think/believe the BBC is left leaning then you will never understand my impression of British media. Not to underestimate social media but the BBC,SKY and EVERY single large volume daily needpapers are to put it mildly ‘not left leaning’ and 99% of political information taken by the general public comes via these outlets. KTF
That's no longer true. As you can see from the conversation above, people's impressions of politicians are influenced by outlets such as Evolve. When I refer to the BBC and Channel 4 as left leaning, I'm not referring to good old fashioned working class socialism. These media outlets are run by the 'liberal elite' as they are referred to. As I've said previously, there's a lack of middle ground. A lot of the newspapers are rabidly right wing. Which is why I don't read them. But there are lot of other forms of media that take the opposite stance. Just look at right wing opinions regarding the BBC's stance on Brexit, as encapsulated in Michael Rove's speech the other day. A lot of the problems with the political landscape at the moment are because there is no straight down the line reporting. Everything is imbued with spin and propaganda from one direction or another.
you do know it means battle, like kunt is bum, slapper is sleep, there are loads of Dutch words that make English think WTF
Knew you’d be all over that one!! Been to Holland a number of times and the language is so difficult but you always remember the real words that sound like English swear words
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/leftcenter/ https://www.cps.org.uk/publications/bias-at-the-beeb/ Even BBC journalists such as Andrew Marr and Andrew Neil admit that the corporation is left leaning. You can look that up. I don't see how the quote from Evolve proves anything about the Beeb's standpoint. The other thing that you have to consider is your own viewpoint. If you're particularly left wing then the Beeb may be positioned further to the right than you. Just as Evolve is positioned further to the left than the BBC. But none of this means that on the overall political spectrum that the BBC is right wing.
I can see what you mean and I admit my leanings no probs but. . . Theres always a but trying to leave my bias aside (truly) I find them right of centre and deffo anti Corbyn as I find all mainstream media to be, tho Sky is in a class of its own. And the print mefia to be horrendous. So there we are agreeing to disagree. No foul no hurt or whayever the saying is. KTF
