Forest are looking favourites to get Collins but at £25,000 a week , i say good luck to them .... C O Y B..................... £25000 wow
Make no mistake - last season he was part of a very miserly defence in the Prem. If we are to have any chance of making the play offs we need someone like him pulling the backline into shape and getting cack defenders like Delaney and Smith off the pitch.
It's not too high for a player of his calibre when you think we were paying 15k to useless players like Jon Stead.
I agree its a lot of money but, these things are all relative to be honest. It can be 'justified' on the basis that someone will pay it. If that's the market rate then that's the market rate. To be honest, can you 'justify' a beach hut changing hands at Southwold for £30K? Crazy but, if someone is willing to pay then its justfied on that basis. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14806274.stm
Thats put it into perspective Hamps, what is a proven quality player worth? When you think of some of the very average and downright useless players weve had and to a certain extent weve still got earning money that most of us could only dream about, what is the value of a quality player who would improve our squad enormously? Its not as if we havent got the money.
If a player can guarantee you promotion then he is certainly worth the money but there are no guarantees in football and every transfer/loan is a risk.
Pay the freakin money and avoid relegation!! LOL. If it means pushing for a top 6 then lets splash the 'kin cash!!
