What the f uck are you having for Dinner thread..

I have done both. Turkey is bland, smoked bacon helps. Have also put pancetta in bolognese..

I only ever buy smoked bacon. Though the mrs bought some unsmoked stuff the other day and I was a refreshing change.

 

You should try gnocchi. You may like it.

 

Beef fried rice with a lentil dhal

Looks like something I’ve evacuated from my bowels but very tasty.

You never had a dhal? It’s a lentil curry. With did have some spinach in it.

Did resemble a tramps vomit.

 

Not sure i have ever had one. Don't think i'm in a rush to try one either.

 

It’s vegetarian Indian food. Indians make the best vege food. It’s good.

 

Kind of rules me out then..

I can give or take Indian food at the best of times, but a veggie Indians...Well it ain't happening.

 

Did have some beef fried rice under it.

I love dhal. I like to add lots of lemon and tabasco.

 

@Sweats. i'm gonna have a fray bentos steak and kidney pie tonight, i've decided on that...but not decided what to have with it yet.

 

Mushy peas.

When I was at uni I used to buy tinned new potatoes when I was feeling flush and roast them.

 

Sounds a plan, i have mushy peas....I've got loads of spuds, fresh and tinned...

 

I love mushy peas.

 

So its steak and kidney pie, mushy peas....and obviously some other random ****, which i havn't decided on yet

 

One thing most of you northerners get which is far better up there are the pies and gravy in the chippys.

Used to love going to Lou Macaris’s chippy By old Trafford. Pie chips mushy peas and gravy. You can also have scraps on ya chips up north too. Don’t get that down here and chippy gravy is awful.

 

Do kebab shops still do doner meat and chips for £1 or have things moved on since 1994?

If not enough sauce, i'll make a mustard gravy.

 

Yeah. Though most doner meat is horrible unless you go to London where they do it properly. Some truly amazing kebab shops in London.
